Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 7, 2023, details, EJ’s good news, Gabi’s bad luck, and Melinda’s terrible evening.

A New Job For EJ

EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) furiously demanded to hear from Wendy (Victoria Grace) and Li’s father about Li (Remington Hoffman) handing over his DiMera stock to Stefan (Brandon Barash) and Gabi (Camila Banus). At least Nicole (Arianne Zucker) was there to try to calm him down. However, she didn’t want to talk about work. She wanted to have a romantic wedding night.

They finally took things to the couch where EJ gave his very pregnant wife a foot rub. When they tried to take things to the bedroom, Paulina (Jackee Harry) arrived at the door to announce that she was once again mayor. She even wanted to offer EJ a job — district attorney. Nicole thought it was a great idea, but EJ turned her down anyway.

Paulina didn’t give up, however. She explained that they were family again since Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) were back together. Families can make a great team, right?

Gabi’s In Serious Hot Water

Gabi insisted she didn’t kill Li as Harris tried to cuff her. Stefan claimed Gabi had nothing to do with what happened but Harris told him the evidence said otherwise. He also warned Harris (Steve Burton) that Gabi was the commissioner’s sister, so he wouldn’t be happy about her arrest.

When Rafe (Galen Gering) heard the news about Li, he was stunned. That shock turned to horror when Harris brought his sister into the police station in cuffs. In the interrogation room, Rafe tried to get the truth out of Gabi but she still insisted she wasn’t the culprit and everything she told Stefan about what happened was true.

Rafe told Gabi that things were looking bad for her as she tried to make him see she’d been set up. After all, she went down this road before when Abigail accused her of killing Andre and even lied on the stand about it. When Rafe heard what Gabi and Stefan just did to Li, he warned Gabi the charges would be hard to fight.

As Gabi argued with Rafe, she said that Li got what she deserved but then had to walk that sentence back and explain he deserved to lose his DiMera shares. He didn’t deserve to die. She eventually admitted she was terrified and begged Rafe to help her. So, that’s exactly what Rafe did as he theorized that Li had someone kill him just to set up Gabi for his murder.

Things looked even bleaker for Gabi when EJ showed up in his new DA role and promised to make her his first conviction.

Melinda’s Very Bad Day

Melinda (Tina Huang) was thrilled to hear that Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) got married and informed her friend this would help with her adoption quest. Melinda soon spotted Paulina in the Square and tried to be friendly but Paulina wasn’t having it. She had no plans of giving Melinda back her job as DA.

Paulina didn’t believe Melinda when she told her that she wasn’t trying to butter her up, which turned the whole conversation into an argument. Paulina chastised Melinda for not getting Li to confess to his crimes while neither woman realized he was dead. When Melinda finally saw the news come across her phone, she was horrified.

Tripp (Lucas Adams) and Wendy (Victoria Grace) soon appeared so Melinda offered her condolences. Wendy wasn’t in the mood to hear what Melinda had to say and accused her of being one of the “vipers” who was always trying to take her brother down. Things went even more downhill for Melinda when Paulina informed her that she hired a new DA.
