Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for December 1, 2023, details Eric and Nicole trying to prove who a certain baby belongs to — not knowing he belongs to both of them.

Eric Readies For A DNA Test, EJ Readies For Court

As Dimitri (Peter Porte) anxiously thumbed through the paper as if it was 1999 looking for news about Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) release from jail and could only find information about his arraignment, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) remained fixated on Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) and Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) new baby — the one she knew was hers but for some reason, not kidnapping like OldNicole would do.

EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) still insisted she had to accept that their baby died and was steadfast in his determination to bring Leo to justice for killing their child.

At least Holly (Ashley Puzemis) was on the ball. She tore herself away from thoughts of Johnny (Carson Boatman) for a few minutes to chat with Eric about that DNA test she asked him to run on his baby (really, this is his baby, although he doesn’t know it). He was all ready to see Kayla and have the test down, but needed to tell Sloan first — so she or an accomplice could switch the test results, of course.

Before Eric could admit what was going on, Dimitri texted threatening Sloan now that he knew Leo was still behind bars. That led Sloan to flee from the apartment while telling Eric to do whatever he had to so Nicole would stop insisting the baby was her own.

EJ’s Rage, Nicole’s Quest

Back at the mansion, Nicole confessed to Holly that she was still sure that Eric’s baby was hers so Holly had her own confession — Eric was going to run a DNA test at her behest. An excited Nicole was sure the test would prove this baby was her son and rushed to the hospital with a DNA sample.

When she got there, she took another look at the baby and confirmed in her heart this was her son. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) ran the test and now they had to anxiously await the results. Kayla didn’t think it would take much more than an hour, which is impressive.

Over at the Salem PD, EJ took pleasure in taunting Leo. He planned to make sure he got a long sentence and would be in Statesville for many years to come. Leo still insisted he was mourning the child he delivered and didn’t think the murder charge would stick, which it wouldn’t in a normal world.

In the seedy motel, Dimitri called Nicole right in front of Sloan. As Nicole begged him to tell her what happened with her baby, Sloan grabbed the phone and hung up. She insisted she could still spring Leo. He just needed to turn himself in. Surprisingly, Dimitri agreed to sacrifice for the love of his life.

A Teenage Crush

Johnny and Chanel (Raven Bowens) sat down for a casual breakfast at The Brady Pub. When Chanel asked her boyfriend where he got his new bracelet, she was a bit perturbed that Holly made it for him. Chanel once again pointed out that Holly had a crush on her boyfriend, but he insisted it was only a friendship bracelet, like they were 10.

When Tate (Jaime Martin Mann) overheard them talking about Holly having a crush on EJ, something Chanel didn’t buy, Tate stepped in and told them Holly was over EJ now. Johnny felt that proved his point that Holly was never crushing on him.

Tate’s next move was to ask Chanel for a job at Sweet Bits. When they left to start the application process, Holly made her move and swooped in. After Tate sent her a quick text, she feigned surprise at seeing Johnny alone at the Pub and joined him.
