Though Thaao Penghlis (ex-Tony DiMera; ex-Andre DiMera) has ruled out a return to the Days of our Lives canvas (and indeed any soap’s canvas), that doesn’t mean he’s turning his back on beloved former castmembers.

In fact, the actor recently spent an evening reconnecting with two of his great onscreen loves, Leann Hunley (Anna Fredricks Brady DiMera) and Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts Brady).

On Instagram Penghlis gushed: “What a great evening with Lauren & Leann. 2 Martinis & a Manhattan. No politics.Just the joy of friendship & great conversation.”

Kristian Alfonso (ex-Hope Williams Brady) and former senior vice president of Corday Productions, ex-co-executive producer of, and formerly the executive in charge of production at DAYS Greg Meng was among the many to comment on the post.

It was during an interview with Soap News — in which he was promoting his cookbook Seducing Celebrities One Meal at a Time — that Thaao Penghlish decreed he was finished with the soap world. “There are changes happening that I can’t discuss right now. It feels like it’s coming from somewhere else, maybe with a different writer. When people start taking you for granted, you change. I love where I am now. It’s a sort of awakening.”
