General Hospital spoilers for for January 16, 2024, promise a fraught day for Sonny as he tries to put a stop to what he put in motion.

Sonny’s Big Mistake?

After telling a freaked-out Dex (Evan Hofer) that he needed him to kill Cyrus (Jeff Kober) to keep his loved ones safe, Dex goes to the hospital to get the job done, but then Sonny (Maurice Benard) reconsiders. Maybe this isn’t the best idea, especially since Cyrus seems to not want to harm him.

Sonny’s been softening around the edges since Nixon Falls and maybe this is a part of it. The problem is that Dex is now a man on a mission trying to prove to his boss that he has what it takes to be a mob enforcer. Can Sonny stop him before he does something everyone will learn to regret?

Joss Tries To Save Adam

Meanwhile, Josslyn (Courtney Fulk) needs some moral support and Dex is a little busy at the moment. At least Carly (Laura Wright) is there for her daughter since they can both comfort one another right now.

However, things take a turn for the worse with Adam and Finn does everything he can to save the young man’s life. Will he succeed or will Joss suffer another devastating loss?

Nikolas Makes A Choice

Now that Nikolas (Adam Huss) and Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) have had a proper and tender reunion, Nikolas realizes that his other son needs him as well. To that end, he vows to protect Ace. After all, he has a crazy mother who hasn’t changed despite a full year with amnesia.

Will Spencer convince Nikoas to work together to bring down Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl)? Nikolas wants to run again and take his sons, but if he learns that Esme has her memories back and is now faking amnesia, that can all change.

Finally, Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Esme have a few moments together in which Trina tells Esme all about her and Spencer’s plans to spend some extended time in Paris together while she studies at the Sorbonne.

This just won’t do for Esme as she can’t lose Spencer now, especially when she has her memories back. Little does Esme know that Spencer already figured out her secret and doesn’t trust her one bit. Looks like the last year of Esme’s life and her new set of lies were all for nothing. Let’s fill Laura (Genie Francis) in on that fact.
