The Young and the Restless’s Nick Newman is one of the most infamous waffling wafflers on daytime, a fact Joshua Morrow knows all too well. He’s almost always in love with multiple women at once and often wants what he can’t or doesn’t have. This leaves fans to wonder…who does Nick really want?

Joshua Morrow Dishes the Details!

First and foremost, Nick likes being the hero. “Nick is that person for everyone on the show — he wants to be the person that everyone can count on and come to when things are not going great,” Joshua Morrow teased to Soap Opera Digest. “He relishes that role.” He’s always riding to the rescue and loves lending a hand (especially when it makes him the center of attention.

Right now, it’s Sharon (Sharon Case) who needs him more than anyone or anything. She’s taking a fast slide into the abyss and her mental health is plummeting. Will this bring them closer together as drama usually does? Maybe not this time! “There’s zero romantic anything with them, but they are incredibly close,” Morrow hints. “Where this leads, who knows? You can sort of use your imagination and fill in the blanks on your own.”

Of course, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is right there waiting in the wings for her time to shine. “There’s obviously, I think, always sort of electric attraction with them,” the actor reveals. “I always like to play Nick where he walks in and sees Phyllis — or especially when Phyllis is with Summer — like he knows he’s about to walk into a tornado. He knows that this is going to be an, ‘Uh-oh!’ He is going to have to buckle on a seatbelt because we’re about to go for a ride!”

Who does he love more? Well, both! “Nick just really loves these women, Sharon and Phyllis, and he’s never going to be able to completely turn the page, which is the problem with each of their relationships!”
