Claire (Hayley Erin) showed up on The Young and the Restless as Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) little sidekick and infiltrated the Newman family. Then, she kidnapped them and tried to murder the lot. But, of course, that was before she learned her aunt was a lying liar and her parents very much did want her. Now, she’s on the road to redemption and living her best Newman life.
Redeeming Qualities
Hayley Erin sat down with Soaps In Depth to talk about what’s next for her formerly shady character. “I wasn’t sure she would be redeemed,” she told the publican. “It’s been a real joy getting to know Claire…it’s taken so many twists and turns that I’m still on the edge of my seat.” Her alter-ego’s future is wide open now and she can’t wait to see where she gets to take Claire next.
Will she end up being hired as Harrison’s nanny? Hayley seems to think it’s a possibility. “I think her interest in Harrison and being a nanny and finding love, it’s really healing for Claire to have these connections with these children where she can experience that kind of adult/child connection.” While that would be great for Claire, Harrison, and Kyle (Micheal Mealor), it won’t go over well with Summer (Allison Lanier).
The job may be the least of her worries, though. With Jordan locked in the Newman Ranch dungeon, it’s only a matter of time before the baddie turns Genoa City upside down. Hopefully, Claire will be unscathed if her evil aunt goes off the rails again.
