Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for October 19, 2023, has Victor doing his best to keep his family on their toes — in a very manipulative and disturbing way.
The Newmans Fear for Victor
Nick (Joshua Morrow) called a meeting with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to discuss his concerns about Victor. He felt Victor was fading faster than he ever imagined. He explained how Victor (Eric Braeden) was confused about who was running Newman Media and Victoria relayed that she had the same type of incident.
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) tried to chalk up Victor’s mistake as nothing since we all have memory lapses like that from time to time. However, both women were alarmed when Nick told them Victor had forgotten that Sally lost the baby months ago. In the end, Nick decided he would return to Newman to help deal with Victor’s problems.
When Nick and Victoria had some coffee at Crimson Lights, they wondered how they would ever confront The Great Victor Newman about what was going on. Well, they didn’t have to worry about that since Nikki took it up herself to do just that. She also wondered if this was all part of Victor’s plan to find a family traitor in their midst. He already assumed the traitor was Adam (Mark Grossman).
Victor Loses it on Adam
Victor confused Adam when he found him working at Society and accused him of being up to something sneaky. Victor went into a rant about how Adam is always complaining about being a victim as life treated him unfairly. Adam had no idea what Victor was even talking about.
Adam was surprised when Victor fired him once again because he had no idea what he did wrong. He could tell something was off with Victor but he couldn’t figure out what was really going on. Victor angrily walked away and sat down at another table while Adam stared at him in disbelief.
When Nate (Sean Dominic) showed up, he told Victor that Adam was doing a good job working for him and Victor seemed pleased. When Nate made his way to Adam’s table, he could tell something was wrong but Adam told him they’d talk about it later.
Oddly enough, Victor didn’t remember firing Adam after Nate left. Once Adam was gone, a cunning Victor smiled to himself. His plan seemed to be working. Adam was concerned and his story gave Nate some worry too. Victoria had already told him that Victor was acting erratic.
Nick and Victoria decided to confront Victor at the end of the hour and all he could do was accuse Victoria of wanting the CEO position back.
Happy Times for Daniel and Danny
Lily (Christel Khalil) was happy to see Daniel (Michael Graziadei) at her door. He couldn’t wait to show her a surprise and brought her to the apartment right below hers. Daniel announced he bought the apartment and was moving in right near Lily. She was thrilled with the idea and all their impending togetherness.
Lily even suggested that Daniel use Sally (Courtney Hope) as his interior designer before they took a tour of the apartment, including both bedrooms.
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) met up with Danny (Michael Damian) for breakfast at The Athletic Club. She couldn’t wait to tell him how optimistic she felt about her future. She didn’t give him the details of her newfound happiness, which made Danny skeptical. Still, Phyllis said she was done with the horrors of the past and was determined to remain positive.
They took their food to the park to chat some more. Phyllis kept insisting she was a changed woman and Danny wanted to believe her but he knew who he was dealing with after all these years. When Daniel and Lily arrived, Daniel offered Danny a room in his new place and Danny was happy because he was sticking around town for a while.
