The Bold and the Beautiful fans have been wondering if they should invest in a story in which Eric Forrester learns he is dying if it’s nothing more than a false alarm. Soap opera characters often learn that they only have six months to live, only to be offered a miracle cure at the last minute. However, a tweet from a B&B producer seemed ominous and Eric’s life may really be cut short soon.
Are We Looking At Eric’s Funeral?
B&B producer Casey Kasprzyk recently tweeted a scene still of Eric’s portrait above the Forrester fireplace with what appear to be funeral flowers underneath. Kasprzyk wrote: “Filming 10 shows this week, and let’s just say it’s going to be very emotional for everyone. #BoldandBeautiful #EricForrester”
That sounds ominous to us and ominous to fans who immediately responded with questions about Eric’s status, as well as suggestions. One thing B&B fans seem in agreement on is that Eric’s other children need to be brought into this story. If the Forrester patriarch is really dying, where are Ridge’s siblings? Thorne, Felicia, Kristen, Bridget, and Rick should all be there to bid farewell to their father if indeed Eric is truly dying.
John McCook’s Status With B&B
It seems hard to imagine that John McCook would retire with barely an announcement as he has been with the show since it first premiered in 1987. Along with Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke), he is the longest-running cast member on the 36-year-old soap.
A report in TV Insider based on a Celebrity Dirty Laundry article claiming McCook recently re-signed for three years has not been confirmed by the show or the actor. At this point, there is no word official word on McCook’s contract status and he has not announced any intention to leave the soap after all these years.
That does not mean it’s not coming and that McCook’s departure is not the best-kept secret in daytime right now. Then again, Eric just might find that miracle cure to his mystery disease after all and the emotional scenes being taped this week could be dream scenes — or a wedding. Perhaps those flowers under Eric’s portrait aren’t funeral flowers, after all.
