This week’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for January 2-5, 2024, details Hope and Thomas coming to an understanding as Finn doesn’t seem to understand.
Hope’s Big Surprise
Hope (Annika Noelle) was stunned when Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) got down on one knee and proposed marriage, but she had to turn him down and tell him she was nowhere near ready for that level of commitment after just ending her marriage to Liam (Scott Clifton). She was touched by his gesture and he made her very happy, but she wasn’t ready to say yes.
Thomas was understanding and asked Hope to wear the ring on a necklace, which she did. She also asked him to keep the proposal between them for the moment and he agreed. However, the rock around her neck might give it away. While she still couldn’t bring herself to tell Thomas she loved him, she didn’t deny it when he said he felt her love when they were together.
Steffy And Finn Argue About Xander
Finn (Tanner Novlan) was also stunned when Xander (Adain Bradley) relayed his tale of Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) death. He claimed that Thomas killed Emma in cold blood, but when he told Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) about his encounter, she defended her brother. She also pointed out that Xander kept the secret about Baby Beth along with Thomas, so he was no innocent and was fired from Forrester Creations.
Finn seemed to find it hard to believe when Steffy insisted that her brother did many terrible things but he didn’t murder anyone. She also told him that the police ruled Emma’s crash an accident and determined there was no foul play.
Later, Steffy went to Thomas and told him that Xander was back and making accusations against him. Separately, Finn called Hope over to his office to tell him he was worried she was in danger now that he heard Xander’s tale. Hope already knew about Thomas’s role in the accident and did her best to defend her man.
Thomas also overheard everything and later, he calmly warned Finn to not come between him and Hope. He just wanted to get alone because they were family. Finn responded by calling Thomas mentally unstable.
Bill’s Big Date
While Hope and Thomas got pre-engaged, Liam (Scott Clifton) made his way back on the scene to continue whining to his father about his sad life. However, Bill (Don Diamont) had his own news. He was going on a date with Steffy’s husband’s aunt.
When Poppy (Romy Park) joined him at Il Giordano, they reminisced about a night they spent together long ago. Bill never called Poppy again after that night, but they admitted they wanted to see where their rekindled relationship would take them.
