Today’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 20, 2023, details Liam taking matters into his own hands, Sheila keeping calm, and Hope needing Thomas’s comfort and support.
Liam Refuses to Listen to Finn
As Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) sat in the design room creating magic, he was surprised when Liam (Scott Clifton) showed up when he hadn’t had to deal with him for weeks. He had a gift for Beth and couldn’t wait to tell Liam all about seeing Hope recently and learning about Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown).
Liam went on and on about Finn (Michael Easton) being a bad husband and letting Sheila into Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) life, which proved Liam was over Hope and obsessed with Steffy again. Thomas was a bit alarmed when Liam announced he wanted Steffy back and had to point out that she was still married to Finn.
When Liam said that Finn had to act like a real husband, Thomas wondered if that’s what Liam was when he walked out on Hope (Annika Noelle) at the first sign of a problem. Liam didn’t have an answer to that query and walked right out.
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) popped by the hospital to see Finn and talk about the Deacon-Sheila engagement. He wanted to know if Finn had told Steffy about what’s been going on. Finn admitted he’d yet to say a word to Steffy and informed Ridge that he was living a nightmare.
Finn got Ridge to agree not to tell Steffy about Sheila and Deacon before he had a chance. Ridge warned him that he had better do it soon before Steffy heard about it from someone else — and that someone could be Liam.
Speaking of Liam, his next stop for the day was Finn’s office. When he learned Finn still hadn’t told Steffy the big news, Finn knew he had a problem on his hands with Little Puke. He warned Liam to stay out of his business and away from his wife.
However, as soon as Finn left the room, Liam called Steffy and left a message with the big news because Liam will always, always be Liam.
Li Is Relentless With Sheila
Sheila tried to keep her cool after Li (Naomi Matsuda) slammed her face into a bowl of spaghetti bolognese. Li just taunted her more by picking a bit of sauce off Sheila’s chin, eating it, and declaring it bitter. Sheila told Li she had every right to let loose on her, but she wouldn’t be baited and provoked.
When Deacon arrived on the dining terrace, Li told him he was crazy to be involved with a “heinous creature like Sheila Carter.”
Before being called away to deal with Sheila and Li, Deacon tried to make Hope believe that he loved both her and Sheila, but Hope told him those two things were incompatible because loving Sheila hurt Hope. She was sure Sheila would destroy her relationship with her dad.
When Deacon said he’d vowed to never disappoint Hope again, she begged him not to. He had to break things off with Sheila because she was using and manipulating him. Hope didn’t think Sheila was capable of change because she was a sociopath.
Deacon explained that something just clicked between him and Sheila because they were both convicts and misfits looking at the world from the outside in. Hope didn’t think her dad should compare herself to someone like Sheila.
Hope Finds Comfort From Thomas
Hope soon showed up in tears after her conversation with Deacon. She poured out her heart about the situation but admitted that she was really there to see him. Hope grabbed and kissed Thomas and Thomas didn’t complain.
After Thomas declared his love once again, Hope admitted that she was still confused about her feelings, but was grateful for him. She also confessed that being away from Liam made her realize how emotionally exhausting her marriage really was.
Hope didn’t know if she could ever feel a connection to a man again but that didn’t deter Thomas from wanting to be with her and loving her.
