Today’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for November 1, 2023, has the suspense of learning who won the fashion showdown in conjunction with Ridge learning more about Eric’s motivations than he ever wanted to know.
Brooke And Ridge Learn The Truth
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) could barely believe her ears when RJ (Joshua Hoffman) told her that Eric (John McCook) was dying. She was sure he misunderstood his grandfather. RJ explained that this was why Eric kept calling this show his grand finale. He needed a win and it would crush him if Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was victorious.
When Brooke and RJ finally arrived for the big talk, all Ridge could do was brag about the fact that he won. Sadly, RJ had to break his bubble when he told him that Granddad was dying. Ridge was in a state of disbelief, so RJ relayed the whole sordid tale of how Eric’s illness progressed.
RJ couldn’t stop apologizing for keeping this a secret, but Ridge understood. At least RJ gave him the good news that he loved designing and finally found his calling in life.
RJ’s guilt was eating away at him. He wished he had told Ridge about this but he couldn’t betray Eric. Eventually, Brooke managed to convince him to tell Ridge what was going on right away.
Elsewhere, Katie (Heather Tom) made some small talk with Luna (Lisa Yamada) and questioned her about her relationship with RJ. She realized that Luna knew all about Eric because RJ needed to confide in someone. She reminded Luna that RJ would need a friend and support over the next few months.
Eric Wants The Results
Eric was still on cloud nine after the fashion show. He felt fired up and alive and couldn’t even think of resting despite Donna’s (Jennifer Gareis) prodding. He was sure he beat Ridge in the design contest. When Donna and Katie got a chance to talk, she told her how worried she was about Eric.
Soon, Donna and Eric had another chat and they worried how Ridge’s ego would feel if he learned he lost. As they waited longer for the results than expected, it finally started to hit Eric that Ridge might win. That’s when a coughing fit came on.
Donna begged him to remain positive, but Eric was growing frantic as he waited for Carter to tell them the results. Finally, they arrived at Eric’s own office to find RJ, Brooke, and Ridge looking somber. He just assumed they knew the results and asked Ridge to give him his final answer. Ridge knew he had won, but would he tell Eric that?
