When Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso made another return to Days of Our Lives as Bo and Hope Brady last spring, fans were ready for more as soon as their stint ended. After all, Bo was lingering in a coma with Hope by his side, but they still never got the happily-ever-after the audience had been waiting for.
Peter Reckell Speaks Out On His DAYS Absence
On January 11, 2024, the longtime DAYS and Bo and Hope fan that goes by the Twitter handle @Evangelia1111 organized a campaign to bring Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso back to the show under the hashtag #BringBackBope. Reckell decided to get in on the fun and respond to some fan questions.
When one asked if it was him or the DAYS writers preventing another DAYS return, Reckell emphatically replied, “Writers!” making it clear that he is willing to bring Bo to life once again if the powers that be decide to make it happen.
Another fan wondered if Reckell was already back and secretly filming more scenes. When asked if he would reveal he was back to work, Reckell replied, “The very moment!”
Back in November, @Evangelia organized another Twitter day celebrating Bo Brady’s official 60th birthday. Reckell thanked her for her efforts, tweeting: “40 years distilled down to 30 minutes, amazing job, Angie!!! I have been darn lucky to play such a character. Thanks to all of you who have helped keep him alive. Hope he wakes up soon.”
Bo And Hope: A Much-Missed Supercouple
Bo and Hope have been a Salem pair since 1983, declaring their love for one another on Hope’s 18th birthday that year. Through marriages, children, deaths, divorces, and presumed deaths, their love has survived, but they haven’t had any real scenes together since 2015. That was when Bo died in Hope’s arms from a brain tumor.
We later learned evil ex Megan DiMera kept Bo cryogenically frozen for years. When he defrosted, he wasn’t quite himself but just when he remembered his love for Hope, Shawn-Douglas shot at him thinking he was saving his mother’s life.
Since spring of 2023, Bo has been in a coma with Hope praying for him to wake up. Will he? If Reckell has his way, the answer is yes.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock starting at 6 AM EST. Remember, you can always find the latest DAYS spoilers, recaps, and news on Facebook at Days of Our Lives Daily. Also, meet fellow fans and talk all things DAYS with our Facebook community group.
