Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for December 18, 2023, details Nicole handing her baby back to a madwoman, heartache for Chad and Stephanie, an explanation from Harris, and more.
Sloan Is Out Of Her Mind
Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) decided she was going to tell Eric (Greg Vaughan) the truth about the baby and beat Leo to the punch. However, Harris (Steve Burton) had a lead on the kidnapper, so Sloan kept her secret for now.
In the DiMera tunnels, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) explained to EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) that she saw Sloan leave the baby alone in the Square and felt she had to take him to save the baby’s life. She insisted he needed them.
EJ didn’t quite know what to think when Nicole suggested they go on the run with him and start whole new lives. He explained that Eric and Sloan would feel the same heartache she’s feeling now, but Nicole insisted this was different.
Finally, EJ convinced her to give the baby back. So, they brought him down to the Salem PD where Sloan raged at Nicole for taking her son, not even seeing the irony and sheer amorality of her statement.
Nicole and EJ explained what happened to Rafe. He couldn’t believe she took the baby, but at least the DA — her husband — didn’t want to prosecute. Too bad Sloan did. She demanded he press charges or she’d make sure he was fired.
Eric finally talked Sloan down from the ledge, so Rafe (Galen Gering) allowed Nicole to go home — as long as she seeked mental health help.
After Eric took the baby to the car, Sloan confronted Nicole along. Without any self-awareness whatsoever she furiously told her she’d make her life a living hell if she ever came near ‘her’ baby again.
The End Of Chad And Stephanie
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) was surprised to see Chad (Billy Flynn) at her parents’ door as she tried to nurse her hangover. He apologized for his recent behavior, and that he couldn’t give her the commitment that she wanted.
Chad was ready to officially end things. Stephanie was a little taken aback but also agreed that they should go their separate ways. Chad was even willing to move back to the DiMera mansion and give her the apartment, but Stephanie didn’t want the kids uprooted.
They finally said their tear-filled goodbyes and ended things for good. Or, at least for soap good.
Stephanie’s next stop was a meeting with Harris in the park, where he explained to her what happened the night before. She was nearly passed out. When he tried to take her to Jada’s (Elia Cantu) room, he saw she was passed out, so he took her to his room instead.
That’s when she puked all over her clothes, so she cleaned up and put on his t-shirt. They both fell asleep, but nothing else happened. Stephanie begged him not to tell anyone about the drunken incident, but Honest Harris felt he had to tell Ava.
Good Friends Chanel And Paulina
An exhausted Chanel (Raven Bowens) returned home in the middle of the day to find Paulina (Jackee Harry) still in her robe. She claimed she had a hard time waking up, but it was nothing more.
When Chanel was walking through the Square, she ran into Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) for the first time in ages so they sat down for coffee and caught up on each other’s lives. Chanel had no idea Alex now believed he was Victor’s (John Aniston) long-lost son.
As for Paulina, she played hostess and sounding board to Chad. She was disappointed to hear it was over for Chad and Stephanie for good. She encouraged Chad to find love again. After Chad left, Paulina fell asleep on the couch, which is where a worried Chanel found her when she got home.
