Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 15, 2023, details Melinda and Sloan kicking their sick plan into action with no regard for anyone’s feelings but their own.
Melinda’s Dirtiest Deed Yet
Melinda (Tina Huang) had a pep talk with Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) hungry and wet premature newborn in a hotel room while meeting with the shady doctor who would declare Nicole’s baby dead. At first, he didn’t want to have anything to do with whatever Melinda had planned — until she offered him enough money.
So, he examined Nicole’s baby, declared him healthy, and then had to listen to the rest of what Melinda wanted. He balked at doing something so heinous as to tell Nicole her baby was dead, but finally agreed. At least Melinda admitted her scheme was cruel, but apparently, she didn’t care.
For some reason, she thought EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) would be a horrible father so she justified her decision. She also remembered her own daughter Hayley who died in DAYS’ last baby switch that occurred due to a car accident during the time jump.
Sloan Delivers Big News
Eric (Greg Vaughan) was amazed when Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) told him the baby they wanted to adopt was born that very night, the same night that Nicole had her baby. Now their babies would have the same birthdays and the parents would have the same anniversaries. That didn’t seem strange to Eric at all.
When Eric mentioned that Nicole had her baby earlier on the side of the road, Sloan feigned shock and concern — and then had to fake it some more when Dimitri (Peter Porte) called and she pretended it was a legitimate client. Dimitri wanted her to help Leo out of his little jam. Sloan agreed to do it as long as Dimitri left town now and Leo followed after she got him out of jail.
Leo Is Left Perplexed
Leo (Greg Rikaart) did his best to get Dimitri to escape Salem without him considering Leo was now in police custody and didn’t know how he would escape. Dimitri was determined to find Leo a lawyer because he was the love of his life, so Leo tried to hang tight.
Rafe (Galen Gering) tried to interrogate Leo some more before EJ barged in demanding answers. Rafe didn’t even know about the car crash or roadside birth at this point because he is Rafe and clearly not qualified to be police commissioner.
As EJ relayed the whole story, Leo was shocked to hear that Dimitri never delivered the baby to the hospital as planned. Sloan soon showed up and asked to speak to her client alone. Once Sloan and Leo had a chance to chat, he immediately asked her if Dimitri said anything about Nicole’s baby. Sloan claimed that he didn’t mention the newborn at all.
Heartless, Cruel News For Nicole And EJ
A hot mess Holly (Ashley Puzemis) needed something to calm her nerves, so she tried lighting up a joint in the middle of the DiMera living room. That’s when Johnny (Carson Boatman) came along to ruin her moment of zen. She quickly hid her vice and told Johnny what was going on with her mother and how EJ was out there trying to find her.
Holly soon noticed she had a text from Eric telling her that Nicole had the baby and was in the hospital so she and Johnny sped over there to learn they had a baby brother but he was missing.
Poor post-partum Nicole was losing her mind with worry over the baby she will not have back in her arms for about six months to a year depending on how long the writers plan to drag this baby switch out. EJ seemed much more calm as they wondered where Dimitri went with their son.
EJ was sure Dimitri would not harm their baby but Nicole was not so sure. She became hysterical wondering if her baby was hungry and crying. When Dimitri heard the Leo was at the Salem PD he ran over there to confront Leo.
When he returned, he found Nicole with Holly and Johnny. Then, Melinda’s shady doctor walked in and delivered the horrible fake news. Nicole had to once again learn one of her children had died. She and EJ tried to comfort one another as they sobbed over the ‘death’ of their son.
Meanwhile, an oblivious Eric ran off to tell Marlena (Deidre Hall) his adoptive son had been born so she was a grandmother once again. Marlena was thrilled for him, of course. However, their joy turned to sorrow when Holly called to deliver the devastating news about Nicole’s (and Eric’s) baby.
