Today’s General Hospital recap for November 14, 2023, details Valentin’s discovery, Esme’s insistence, Cyrus’s threats, and more.
Valentin Is Horrified
Nina (Cynthia Watros) arrived at Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) house so they could both meet with Laura (Genie Francis). She was shocked to hear that Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) told Laura that she thought Anna (Finola Hughes) shot her on purpose. When Laura walked in, she had other news for them. Charlotte admitted to trying to drive Anna out of town and away from Valentin because Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) influenced her.
Laura explained everything that Charlotte told her. Victor had visited her at boarding school and sent Charlotte a letter disparaging Anna and telling the teen that her father’s girlfriend wasn’t the good person she allegedly pretended to be. Charlotte was obsessed with protecting Valentin from Anna.
Valentin finally decided to search his daughter’s room to find the letter from Victor. During his search, he found her tarot cards with the letter and learned exactly what Victor told her. He showed the letter to Laura and when she read it out loud, Nina was shocked. Valentin was further stunned when Laura informed him that Charlotte wanted Anna arrested.
Carly Is Curious
While Nina was with Valentin, Sonny (Maurice Benard) was with Carly (Laura Wright). She wanted to know why Nina was willing to sell back her half of the Metro Court. Sonny had no idea because this was the first he had heard of it. Carly insisted the offer was strange and that had to be more behind the offer so she wasn’t going to rest until she found out what it was.
Sonny insisted that Nina might really just be too busy and wanted to put Crimson first, but Carly insisted she was hiding something. Somewhat ironically, she told Sonny that at least she was transparent and always provided full disclosure.
Sonny just wanted to know one thing. If Carly accepted Nina’s offer, where was she going to get the money to pay her? Carly didn’t even want to think about it because she was enjoying owning Kelly’s and wasn’t even sure if she wanted to run the Metro Court again.
Esme Is Adamant
Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) stopped into Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) office specifically to talk to Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). He wanted to make another plea for her and Ace not to move out but Esme wasn’t budging in her decision. She told him that he could see Ace whenever he wanted but she needed to move out to get away from him.
She didn’t want Ace growing up thinking Spencer and her were a couple so she needed to get away before it was too late. Spencer told her they didn’t need to be committed romantically for them to raise Ace together. Esme still wouldn’t go for it and insisted on living her own life.
Ava (Maura West) could tell that Trina (Tabyana Ali) was down in the dumps when she showed up at the gallery after her classes. Trina admitted that she had a fight with Spencer and told her what it was about. Ava praised Trina for how understanding she has been about all the time Spencer spends with Ace and not her. She was proud of Trina for speaking out and expressing her feelings.
Trina lamented how things had changed since they were in NY together and they seemed doomed to fail now. As Ava tried to be encouraging, Spencer kept calling and texting because he was desperate to talk to her after arguing with Esme. Trina didn’t want to talk to him but Ava encouraged her to express her feelings more and then listen to Spencer’s feelings, as well.
Cyrus Is Menacing
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) tried to ask Austin (Roger Howarth) more questions about Mason (Nathanyael Grey), but Austin told him he didn’t have anything more to say. He had already talked to two other detectives and relayed everything he knew. Still, Dante wanted to know more especially since Mason has been a frequent visitor to Austin’s office for a year now.
A Bible-toting Cyrus (Jeff Kober) visited Mason in his hospital room wanting him to confess his sins. That would be his road to redemption. Of course, that confession would include a little lie that Mason was acting alone when he kidnapped Ava and not on Cyrus’s orders. Mason wasn’t about to do that until Cyrus reminded him what would happen to him if he ever told the truth.
Mason decided he would give up Austin instead because there was no way he was going to end up behind bars. However, Cyrus had other ideas.
