Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 9, 2023, details Gabi’s very bad news, Wendy’s grief, and Leo and Dimitri’s escape plan gone wrong.
Wendy Breaks The Bad News
Tripp (Lucas Adams) did his best to comfort Wendy (Victoria Grace) as the reality of Li’s (Remington Hoffman) death hit her the next morning. She was sure that Rafe (Galen Gering) would somehow manage to clear Gabi (Camila Banus) and was sure she was the one who did it. Wendy could not get the image of Gabi standing over Li’s body with a knife in her hand.
Wendy realized she still hadn’t told her father about Li yet, but when she picked up the phone she couldn’t do it. Tripp had to tell Mr. Shin that his son was dead. Wendy’s dad was in shock and she had to admit she felt the same.
When Jada (Elia Cantu) came by with more questions, Wendy relayed Li’s fury the day before. Jada was curious about Li’s frame of mind but an angry Wendy accused her of believing Li killed himself just to frame Gabi. She didn’t believe that happened for a second.
Gabi’s Worst Nightmare
As for Gabi, she seemed resigned to going back to prison. Stefan (Brandon Barash) insisted she’d be fine since Belle (Martha Madison) was representing her, but Gabi knew that EJ (Daniel Feueriegel) wouldn’t rest until she was convicted. When Rafe told her the only other prints on the knife were Li’s, Gabi became apoplectic. Stefan tried to be optimistic, but Rafe didn’t share his upbeat attitude. So far, all evidence pointed towards Gabi being the culprit.
Stefan was sure that Belle could use the fact that EJ had a vendetta against Gabi against him. That showed a conflict of interest and would force EJ to drop the case. Too bad Belle soon broke the bad news. EJ refused to budge and Gabi was denied bail.
As Gabi was being transferred to Statesville, EJ walked by and started legally taunting them until Stefan lost his cool and tried to assault his brother. All EJ could do was wish Gabi good luck in Statesville. Later, Belle and EJ met up in the park where Belle warned EJ that he would not win this case.
Before Gabi left the Salem PD, she was allowed to call Arianna and tearfully tell her why she had to cancel their upcoming visit.
Leo And Dimitri’s Big Trouble
Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Dimitri (Peter Porte) were still holed up in their seedy motel room on the outskirts of Salem. While they have been enjoying each other’s company, they know they need to change their circumstances soon. At least they had some good news — Gabi had been arrested for killing Li Shin.
While Leo thought the story was glorious, he was disappointed he didn’t get to write about it in his Lady Whistleblower column. When he read that Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton) was involved with Gabi’s scheme the day before, they realized he was in Salem and could help them.
Like magic, they tracked down Rolf within minutes and asked him to take them with him when he left town, which they were sure would be imminent. Rolf chastised him for losing his inheritance before breaking the news.
Megan (Miranda Wilson) would help her son but not Leo. Dimitri would have to leave his boyfriend behind. When Dimitri refused, Rolf finally gave in. However, when they went to leave, Jada was standing at their door.
