Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 9, 2023, details Nate’s big dilemma, Victoria’s desperation, Sharon’s discovery, and much more.
Victoria’s Distraught
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) rushed straight to the GCAC to see if she could find Nate but ended up having a drink with Nick (Joshua Morrow) instead. They discussed the day’s happenings and her argument with Nate (Sean Dominic), who was angry that she took Adam’s (Mark Grossman) side.
While Nick was sorry for his sister’s relationship problems, he agreed with Victor (Eric Braeden) that Nate was the disloyal one and was glad their dad fired him. Nick was sure that Nate was planning the long game to get him and Victoria back on top. Vicky thought Adam was being just as devious but Nick wasn’t so sure. He believed it was possible that Adam was genuinely concerned about Victor.
Nick warned Victoria that Nate would never get back into Victor’s good graces, but she was determined to convince her father that he was wrong. Nick also felt pressured to take Nate’s job, something that stunned his sister. Nick wasn’t sure if he would take the job and had a lot of thinking to do.
Nate Is Torn
Devon (Bryton James) and Nate met up at the jazz club but Nate didn’t let on that Victor had just fired him. Instead, he was willing to listen to what Devon had to say. Devon was happy to have a chance to talk and dove right in. He was sorry for everything that had happened between them the last few years and wanted to make amends.
Nate admitted he had given up hope on ever having a conversation like this. Devon told him that Aunt Mamie (Veronica Redd) made him and Lily (Christel Khalil) see that they needed to fix their relationship. While Nate wasn’t sure if they could ever make up, Devon did his best to convince him. Just as they were getting somewhere, Victoria arrived so Devon gave them a chance to talk.
Things did not go well. Nate could not get over the fact that Victoria chose Adam’s side in the treatment debate. He was sure she did it because he was family and she would always choose the Newmans. He’d had a wake-up call and that changed things between him and Victoria.
Nate stood by his choice to sign Victor up for the clinic but Victoria asked him to see Victor’s point of view. She believed he wasn’t trying to take over Newman, but Nate was over it. He didn’t want to be a part of the Newman drama anymore. Victoria didn’t 100% believe him but also thought this didn’t have to end their relationship. Nate wasn’t so sure and wondered if this was all a sign that he should reconnect with his own family.
Summer Runs To Chance
Nina (Tricia Cast) kept vigil by Chance’s (Conner Floyd) side as she cried to Christine (Lauralee Bell) that it was always her son hurt in the line of duty. She was still waiting on the doctors for news, but ‘Cricket’ tried to assure her things would be ok.
Sharon (Sharon Case) was also a wreck when she got to the hospital but was relieved when Elena (Brytni Sarpy) told her the prognosis looked good. Sharon relayed this news to a relieved Nina as Elena suggested they go home and get some rest. After the ladies all left, Summer (Allison Lanier) showed up and spent some time alone with an unconscious Chance.
While there, a tearful Summer told Chance that when she learned he was shot, she feared she would never see him again. She was grateful for him in her life and begged him to be strong and get through this ordeal. Finally, Chance woke and smiled at Summer. She took his hand just as Sharon arrived to witness the moment.
Christine Sets Boundaries
Back at Crimson Lights, Sharon, Nina, and Christine went over the ordeal and Nina didn’t think she could take it anymore. She couldn’t accept Chance as a cop anymore and asked Sharon to convince him to find another line of work. Sharon just didn’t think that would be right.
Danny (Michael Damian) soon popped in and heard what happened so Nina and Sharon left him and Christine alone to talk while they went back to the hospital. Once alone, Danny told Christine things like this made him realize that life is too short and we have to seize the day. He then asked her for dinner, but she set her boundaries before saying yes. This wasn’t a date and that was that.
