This week’s The Young and the Restless recap for the week of May 13th featured Billy’s rise to power getting to the rest of the Chancellor-Winters team, more bad news about Connor’s mental health, Kyle making a decision about Harrison’s future, and so much more!
Monday, May 13
Things are getting worse for Connor (Judah Mackey) and his parents are worried sick. Adam (Mark Grossman) opened up to Sally (Courtney Hope) about his son’s illness. Connor is now punishing himself with self-harm by punching his thighs. And, what’s worse, is Adam and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) still haven’t seen him yet. Chelsea cried to Billy (Jason Thompson) about her boy’s ordeal. She then headed to see Adam and they shed tears together for their son.
Sally met up with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to talk about their business. Their failing business. They need an infusion of cash to keep going as the funds are dwindling fast. Chloe suggested they ask one of the Newman brothers for the money but Sally didn’t want to do that. Instead, she began to reconsider their partnership.
Also talking business were Nate (Sean Dominic), Devon (Bryton James), and Lily (Christel Khalil). They didn’t like how Mamie (Veronica Redd) was acting and worried she’d cause more drama. Unfortunately, they are bigger things on their plate. Soon after, Lily got to the office and was informed by Billy that Jill (Jess Walton) was stepping down and leaving all her power to him!
Over at the GCAC, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) got interesting news when she ran into Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Danny (Micheal Damian). Not only was he gearing up to leave for his big tour, but so was Christine! She decided to not take her old friend’s case and chase love instead.
Tuesday, May 14
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) tried to plead his case to Lily, but once again, he failed to convince her to give even an inch. She all but laughed in his face, and tried to shoo him away. Daniel was relentless though, and eventually got her to agree to at least revisit the issue with the board. No need for bad press, right?
Daniel left and Lily took a call from Jill. She made it known she was not impressed with the way Jill handled things. Jill made it clear it’s not up to Lily. Billy now has her power and that’s that. Work it out!
Over in the park, Devon and Abby (Melissa Ordway) spent family time with Dominic. Devon was mighty distracted, though, and shared his thoughts about Billy. Thoughts Abby didn’t love. Sure, Jill blindsided them, but isn’t Mamie acting out, too? Tit for tat and all that. She asked Devon what Neil would do and told him to follow that instinct.
Audra (Zuleyka Silver) got a bit of a treat when she ran into Ashley…or more specifically, Ashley’s childlike alter. She told Audra she was too good to be with a man like Tucker (Trevor St. John) and advised her to cut ties and find someone better. Audra was stunned. She returned the favor by encouraging Ashley to continue seeing Alan. He’s good for her.
As for Tucker and Alan, they had a tense conversation at the club. Tucker inserted himself into Ashley’s business which Alan wasn’t a fan of, but he heard him out…for a hot minute. Then, he turned the tables and blamed Tucker for almost all Ashley’s troubles.
Later, Tucker and Audra caught up and talked about the situation. Then, agreed to not talk about Ashley again. Meanwhile, Ashley went to meet Alan and flirted with him during drinks and tried to kiss him when they went for a walk.
Also at Society was Daniel. He got to know Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), who he fangirled over. Tessa was a fan of his, too, Princess Luisa was her favorite. They chit-chatted about his problems and she her history and love story with Mariah (Camryn Grimes).
Wednesday, May 15
Alan promptly turned down Ashley and took romance right off the table. They are friends and that’s it. Plus, he doesn’t live in Genoa City so it wouldn’t work out anyway. Abby retreated home where he tore into Traci (Beth Maitland) before storming off. Shortly after, Alan showed up and expressed his concerns to Traci. He warned her there was more than one personality at play.
Sally (Courtney Hope) turned to Audra for life advice. She was ready but scared to cut ties with her interior design business. Audra encouraged her to chase her dreams. Sally’s dream? To be a clothing designer, obviously. Her biggest concern was letting Nick down, but Audra assured her a failed business and loss of income wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen to Nick. He can write off the loan.
Over at Chancellor-Winters, Esther (Kate Linder) voiced her concerns about Jill turning the tables on everyone. Lily agreed. Nate (Sean Dominic) turned up and they wondered if they were too hard on Mamie, she did warn them Jill would pull a stunt.
As for Devon, he was at the Club asking Tucker for help dealing with Billy. He offered to ensure Billy was ousted by any means necessary. Devon didn’t like the way Tucker wanted to go about things but it was what it was. He went off to the office and was relieved to hear Billy was jet-setting from office to office. Good, they need time without him around.
Thursday, May 16
Daniel ran into Abby and tore into her when she confessed she voted against him. They’ve been friends almost their entire life, how dare she?! As far as she’s concerned, it’s all just business. He whined about it to his mom who reminded him what the Newman family was like. Money and power are all those people care about.
Later, Phyllis told Tucker about all the drama, which was overheard by Devon. He promptly fired her. No, she quit. No, she’s fired. It was a bit of both, really. Either way, she’s unemployed now.
Over at Chancellor-Winters, Devon called an emergency board meeting, sans Billy. They called up Jill, got Abby to the office, and he proposed a vote to strip Billy of his power. Sadly, for Devon, the vote failed when Abby sided with her absent uncle. She wasn’t going to let Devon railroad anyone and didn’t appreciate not getting a heads-up from her life partner.
After all was said and done, Abby met with Lily alone to advocate for Daniel. They agreed they didn’t want things to get any worse.
Meanwhile, Tucker canceled his trip with Audra and she absolutely lost it. Tucker tried to apologize to Audra and work it out but she wasn’t having it. She was sick and tired of playing second best and wouldn’t stand for it anymore. She stormed off to gripe to Sally, who sided with Tucker. His son needs him and fixing his relationship with Devon is more important than a trip. Later, Nate saw her there an invited her to dine with him.
Friday, May 17
Summer and Phyllis caught up at the club. She relayed that was unemployed for standing up for Daniel. Summer warned her not to do something drastic (which of course, she did as soon as Summer left and she realized her company logins still worked). They also talked about Claire. They both hoped Claire would keep her distance. Sorry, but no. Not only wasn’t she keeping her distance but she was having coffee with Kyle at Crimson Lights.
To Claire’s credit, she reminded Kyle of her past and to take it easy on Summer. Claire understood. Their conversation was cut short by a text from Summer calling him home. Poor Harrison had another nightmare. Once Kyle was home, Harrison wondered if Claire had bad dreams, too, and wanted her over so she could feel safe, too. Kyle decided then and there Claire is what’s best for their son.
Cole and Nick wondered where Victor was…and where Jordan’s body was. It was never found (obviously) and they feared Victor was lying (which he is). He was in the dungeon visiting his captive and toying with Jordan. Victor had a ball torturing Jordan with visions of a life outside her confines.
Later, Claire came home and was excited to learn how to ride a horse and try Brussels sprouts (she’s never had them because Jordan hated them – thanks for the tip on what to feed the monster).
Nick left for the club and found Phyllis on the verge of playing dirty. He sat down and talked sense into her. Why risk it all over a job? He saved her from herself and talked her out of sending a virus to the Chancellor-Winters system.
