Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 29, 2023, details Steve’s quest to get Maggie to see the truth about Victor’s old friend.
Steve’s Suspicions
As Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) defended Konstantin (John Kapelos) for saving Victoria, Steve (Stephen Nichols) commented that it sounded like he was in the right place at the right time. The whole kidnapping incident seemed off to Steve and he wondered if Konstantin had something to do with it.
Steve suspected that Konstantin may have had an accomplice and arranged to have Sarah’s baby kidnapped in order to play the hero and gain her trust. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) thought kidnapping a child was way too over-the-top and extreme just to cover for some white lies.
Steve rightfully pointed out that senior citizen Konstantin was somehow able to chase after a kidnapper and rescue a baby after being knocked out. Sarah suddenly remembered telling Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) that she wasn’t sure if she trusted Konstantin on the day the baby was taken. That sealed it for Steve. Konstantin took Victoria to gain Sarah’s trust.
After Steve left, Sarah confessed to Kayla that the (fake) kidnapping incident gave her a different perspective on Xander (Paul Telfer). Kayla was curious if they could work things out.
Konstantin’s Many Lies
Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) was surprised when he heard Konstantin telling Theresa (Emily O’Brien) that she was only after Alex for his inheritance. He quickly made his presence known, leading Theresa to explain that Konstantin was accusing her of being a gold digger when he barely even knew her.
Both Alex and Maggie wanted to know why Konstantin would even care about Theresa’s relationship — or lack thereof — with Alex. Konstantin apologized for overstepping and feigned concern that Theresa moved in with Victor’s long-lost heir.
Theresa admitted that she was once a gold-digger but now has self-respect and doesn’t chase men for their money anymore. A naive and oblivious Maggie echoed her sentiments.
Konstantin thought he was in the clear, but then Steve showed up to have a private little chat. He told him he just returned from Greece and knew he was lying about his history with Victor. He promised not to tell Maggie anything as long as Konstantin left town.
When Maggie entered the room and asked what was going on, Konstantin admitted to lying about everything just to give Maggie more good Victor (John Aniston) memories. Even if Victor wasn’t financially generous, Konstantin claimed to love him anyway. That’s when Steve brought up the kidnapping, so Konstantin claimed he knew who the culprit was.
Chad’s Many Lies
Poor Everett (Blake Berris) was shocked when Xander suddenly told him he no longer had a job when he thought he was doing a good job. Xander didn’t quite know what to say as Everett demanded the truth. Finally, he told Everett that the whole thing was his partner’s idea.
However, he allowed Everett to believe that Gwen (Emily O’Brien) still owned the paper and was unhappy with the editorial defending Leo. Everett didn’t understand why Xander would give into Gwen’s demands and didn’t believe a word that Xander was saying.
After paying off Xander to fire Everett, Chad (Billy Flynn) lied to Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and told her that he was ready to give Everett a chance. Stephanie was a little suspicious of this change in attitude so Chad tried to pretend he had an epiphany and misjudged her ex.
Chad even tried to get romantic with Stephanie. As for Stephanie, she didn’t bother telling Chad that Everett had planned to propose to her before his accident. As they were kissing, Everett showed up at the door reeling over the fact that he was just fired.
Everett later got Gwen’s number and called her to find out what was really going on.
