Jack of All Trades Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain, General Hospital) continues to expand his repertoire: model, actor, TV movie hot commodity, news correspondent, morning show cohost, and now gameshow MC.
Cameron Mathison
Per Deadline, the actor has been tapped to helm the Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge, a concept based on the BBC’s Bridge of Lies. The scholastic tournament features an enormous interactive bridge that dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. Each step forward puts money in the team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. However, the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires in an exciting end game.”
Although an exact airdate is TBD, Beat the Bridge will premiere sometime in June.
UPDATE: Mathison took to Instagram Tuesday to enthuse over the announcement and to assure fans that the series wouldn’t create conflict with his GH schedule.
The actor wrote: “I’ve been waiting to share this for a while! This summer I’ll be hosting Beat The Bridge on [The Game Show Network]. So excited for you all to see it and so grateful to be a part of the GSN family.
“Got some questions about how this affects General Hospital… it doesn’t! I already shot Beat The Bridge last year so Drew isn’t going anywhere.”
