It’s been nothing but cha-cha-changes for General Hospital’s Anna Devine as of late. Out with the old (bye-bye nascent romance with Valentin and friendship with the local mobster) and in with the, well, old and familiar (the reclamation of her PCPD badge) — and that suits Finola Hughes just fine as she recently detailed to Soap Opera Digest.
Finola Hughes Talks Anna
First and foremost, Hughes is thrilled for Anna’s return to the PCPD. Says the actress: “It just feels like it’s a complete character because I feel like that part of Anna that’s very cerebral and just takes care of business was missing for a while. I do like that justice part of Anna, I really do, and I enjoy playing it.”
But, she probably could have done without the dissolution of her alter-ego’s camaraderie with Maurice Benard’s Sonny. Her initial reaction to the changing narrative? “Sadness for me…really more than anything. Not for the character, but for me, Finola, who really likes working with Mo and really adores him as a person.”
Ditto ‘Vana’ being so unceremoniously torn asunder: “That’s really hard to turn away from. I worked with James [Patrick Stuart, Valentin] the other day and it was really good. It’s really fun, really great working with him.”
