When last we saw Marcus Taggert on General Hospital, it was July 2023, and he was drowning his sorrows (read: majorly over-imbibing) after learning Trina Robinson wasn’t his biological daughter. Since then, it’s been radio silence as far at the character is concerned.
Réal Andrews Answers Fans Questions
In response to a fan asking if he was coming back to GH, Andrews took to Instagram and released a video in which he insisted, “At this point, it’s really gonna be up to you guys — and God, first and foremost. If God wants me back, I’ll be back, but also with your support — you guys have a very loud voice, especially in today’s day and age — so between God and you all making a bunch of noise…If it’s meant to be, I’ll be back and if I’m back, I’ll bring it, you know? That’s what I do.”
Andrew first appeared on GH in 1996 where he remained (off and on, mostly on) until 2003. He made a much-heralded return in 2020 during which he was reunited with his ex-wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), assumed daughter Trina (Tabyana Ali), former partner Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), and host of Port Charles players he’d previously interacted with — chief among them Maurice Benard’s Sonny.
In subsequent stories, Taggert was forced to (temporarily) fake his death to avoid actual assassination by the criminal element and reckon with Trina’s familial connection to Curtis (Donnell Turner).
