Today’s General Hospital recap for November 7, 2023, details the aftermath of Charlotte’s shooting as those who love her tried to come to terms with what happened.
Anna Keeps Blaming Herself
Sonny (Maurice Benard) gave Anna (Finola Hughes) a place to sleep since she couldn’t go back to her new apartment after what happened. She could still hear the gunshot in her head and relived everything that happened after. Sonny was there as support as Anna randomly wondered why Sonny was in the coffee business.
When Nina (Cynthia Watros) woke, she was surprised to see Anna there. Anna was forced to tell her what happened to Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). A horrified Nina ran straight to the hospital to be there for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and help him keep vigil.
Meanwhile, Anna and Sonny went over the events of the night before. Anna couldn’t stop crying as she blamed herself and told Sonny it would be her fault if Charlotte didn’t survive. Anna admitted she was a professional and she should have known better than to shoot. She was trained not to shoot first and ask questions later. Sonny still didn’t want her to blame herself.
Sonny told Anna the story of how he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) before ever knowing he was his son. The guilt will live with him forever, but they were both able to move on. The tale was no comfort to Anna because she still had to live with what she did.
Valentin Is A Lost Soul
Laura (Genie Francis) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) were horrified to hear that Charlotte was shot — and especially alarmed to hear that Anna pulled the trigger. They had all sorts of questions, including why Charlotte was even in Anna’s apartment. Valentin was still a mess and didn’t have many answers. All he could do was wait for the doctor to tell him how his daughter was doing.
Valentin admitted he couldn’t talk to Anna the night before because he couldn’t wrap his head around the idea that she would shoot his daughter. After Kevin and Laura went to find the doctor, Valentin sat with Nina. He admitted if he had told Anna the truth about Charlotte right away then this wouldn’t have happened.
Despite Valentin being right, Nina insisted he wasn’t the only one to blame. She thought there was plenty of blame to go around and that Valentin shouldn’t beat himself up. Soon, the doctor arrived with news about Charlotte. She was going to make it. Nina called Sonny to update him and he relayed the good news to a relieved Anna.
Is Anna In Big Trouble?
Jordan (Tanisha Harper) wanted answers from Dante about what exactly happened at Anna’s new place. Dante told Jordan, Mac (John J. York), and Robert (Tristan Rogers) what Anna told him. Robert pointed out that it wasn’t illegal to defend yourself, but Jordan thought Anna could be in some serious trouble.
Robert jumped to Anna’s defense the most during this debate, although the others knew that there was no way that Anna would shoot Charlotte on purpose. They just knew how this looked and needed all the details. Dante admitted that Charlotte had a key with her, according to Jake. She told Jake it was the key to getting everything she wanted.
At least Robert knew who Anna was really expecting when she opened her door to find a dark figure in her living room. He explained the Forsyth theory but none of them realized that the theory might be wrong. In Jordan’s mind, this meant that Anna was not expecting Charlotte and therefore not aiming for her. She still felt they needed to bring in an objective outside investigator.
Scout’s Dad Drops By
Sam (Kelly Monaco) was stunned to find Drew (Cameron Mathison) at her front door. He finally decided it was time to see his daughter after spending the night with Carly (Laura Wright), who was clearly his priority. But first, they discussed the Charlotte situation. Danny was very shaken up and Rocco was hysterical. At least Sam set up a therapist appointment for them.
Both Drew and Sam were grateful that Alexis blackmailed a federal judge so he could be set free from jail after committing a crime. Alexis felt no guilt about that illegal move, but she did feel her conscience about another matter.
Finally, Scout woke to find her dad there and they vowed to never be apart again. She even had some candy for him from trick-or-treating. After Drew left, Dante returned home as confused as ever as to what happened to Charlotte. He was also surprised to hear the news about Drew.
Dante also had some news for Sam. They found red spray paint in Charlotte’s backpack. It finally dawned on both Dante and Sam that it was Charlotte who was stalking Anna.
