Today’s General Hospital recap for December 11, 2023, details Dex’s memories, Nina’s dilemma, and Tracy’s return.
All About Dex
Dex (Evan Hofer) and Joss (Eden McCoy) sat down for a romantic sushi dinner at his place but all Joss wanted to do was decorate for Christmas. Too bad Dex wasn’t in the mood. In fact, he wasn’t a Christmas tree person. This prompted Dex to open up about his childhood.
Yes, they had a Christmas tree growing up, but he felt it was all for show. His father constantly cheated on his mother and she knew, so he didn’t come from a happy family at all. He hated that his mother stayed with him because he gave her a good life financially. However, Dex didn’t think she was strong enough to be alone.
When Dex refused to go along with the family’s lies, his brothers resented him and would beat him up. He didn’t even get along with his mother and knew by the time he was a teen, he had to get out so he enlisted as soon as he turned 18.
Catching Up With Dante And Sonny
Nina (Cynthia Watros) returned home from holiday shopping, impressing Sonny (Maurice Benard) with all the gifts she bought for everyone in their lives. When Sonny asked what she got for Amelia and Wiley, Nina hedged the question because she knew Michael (Chad Duell) would forbid her from seeing them on Christmas. Nina finally admitted that she was trying hard not to provoke Michael.
That only served to make Sonny angry at Michael once again but Nina could only hope that things would get better with time as it had with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).
Down the hall, Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) played catch-up as he told her that there was no evidence that Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) burned down Anna’s (Finola Hughes) house. However, they knew that Jameson Forsyth was there. He didn’t tell Anna about the key they found because he worried about why the WSB took Forsyth’s body.
For now, Dante was also keeping the key he found. He didn’t tell Anna anything about it.
Engagement News
The Chase clan plus Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) were thrilled to hear about Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) engagement, including Violet (Jophielle Love), who wanted to now become a professional singer and sing at the wedding. BLQ and Chase were all for the idea.
When Violet asked if it would be a whole year before they married, the pair glanced at Gregory (Gregory Harrison) and realized they needed to wed ASAP. At least Grandpa was still there to tuck in a kid who was supposed to be around 10 and read her a bedtime story. She even wanted to make sure the Christmas tree was happy.
Lois (Rena Sofer) and Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) Christmas decor joy came to an end as soon as Tracy (Jane Elliot) walked in and declared that Monica’s house looked like Coney Island. Leo (Easton Rocket Sweda) immediately declared that Christmas was ruined because Christmas was fin, but Tracy didn’t like fun.
Tracy pointed out that she had fun at the Metro Court luau with Brook Lynn before getting some great news. Ned (Wally Kurth) was Ned again and not Eddie Maine. Why didn’t anyone call or text to tell her? This is 2023, almost 2024. She couldn’t understand why she was getting this news nearly a week (in Port Charles time) late.
Tracy explained that she flew home to get some legal papers, but Lois and Olivia knew she was really there to spend Christmas with her family. Soon, Chase and BLQ returned home. Tracy immediately knew Brook Lynn was too happy, so the pair announced their engagement.
