Today’s General Hospital recap for December 22, 2023, details an eventful Christmas Eve in Port Charles.
Spencer, Trina — and Esme’s — Christmas Eve
At home, Laura (Genie Francis) practiced Twas The Night Before Christmas to not disappoint the kids at the hospital. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) then showed up with Ace in tow. She was dropping the baby off to spend Christmas Eve with Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) so she could go do something on her own.
After Esme had another flash of memory, she made her way out to Wyndemere to see what else she could recall. When she got there, she remembered almost everything, including the fire she set on New Year’s Eve, before jumping from the parapet.
Finally, she made her way to said parapet where she remembered EVERYTHING, including recording Joss and Cam having sex.
Trina (Tabyana Ali) resolved herself to spend Christmas Eve without Spencer but with her family. That’s where she learned all about her grandmother Irene from Stella (Vernee Watson). Marshall (Robert Gossett) also admitted to missing Irene at this time of year.
Corinthos Christmas Happenings
Sonny (Maurice Benard), Nina (Cynthia Watros), Michael (Chad Duell), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), and Wiley went to church for the holiday — as Michael glared at Nina as a reminder not to get too close to Willow. When Sonny and Wiley lit candles for loved ones who’d passed, Willow asked Nina if she was thinking about Nelle (Chloe Lanier).
Nina told Willow that her sister was definitely on her mind, and Willow still marveled at the fact that she even had a twin sister. Nina wondered if Nelle could have changed herself and her life if she’d just been given the chance. Later, Nina stayed behind in church to confess her sins — not knowing the person listening was Cyrus (Jeff Kober) and not the priest.
Donna and Carly (Laura Wright) wished Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) a Merry Christmas over the phone before Josslyn (Courtney Fulk) and Dex (Evan Hofer) walked in with Adam (Joshua Benard). When Dex and Adam left the room with Donna for a bit, Carly asked Joss why Adam wasn’t with his family. Joss explained that Adam didn’t feel comfortable going home, but Carly thought that Joss should encourage him to go anyway.
When she did, Adam immediately jumped down her throat and insisted he would NOT be going home. He told her she didn’t know what it was like in his house. He felt like he couldn’t even breathe there and asked Josslyn to stay out of it. He then left and didn’t stay for dinner.
Hospital Happenings
Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Cyrus faced off for a few minutes, as she warned him to stay away from the hospital — and that she would prove he was the one behind TJ’s kidnapping nearly three years ago.
Like Laura, Finn (Michael Easton) also learned Twas The Night Before Christmas before Gregory (Gregory Harrison), Chase (Josh Swickard), and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) arrived with Violet (Jophielle Love). Ever a buttinsky child with no boundaries, Violet demanded that Chase and Brook Lynn set a wedding date.
Soon, Laura finally made it there with Spencer and Ace to read the Christmas story with Finn. Trina also arrived and was happy to see Spencer and the baby — without Esme.
A Davis Girl Christmas
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) remained determined to skydive, so her grandchildren would see how brave she was. At least that was how she rationalized it. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) then told her about Drew (Cameron Mathison) sending Scout to boarding school when she didn’t want to go.
Alexis defended him, saying he just wanted the world for Scout after all he had been through, but Sam thought it was rude to not even ask her or their daughter before making this decision.
Across the room, Kristina (Kate Mansi) volunteered to not just be Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ’s (Tajh Bellow) surrogate. She was also willing to be their egg donor. Kristina tried to make the case for this new idea but Molly and TJ were hesitant because they worried it would make things more complicated.
In the end, Molly and TJ decided to accept the offer. The sisters were overjoyed, but Sam, Jordan, and Alexis looked on in horror because they knew that everything that could go wrong would.
