Today’s General Hospital recap for November 10, 2023, details Valentin’s sad story, Anna’s broken heart, Charlotte’s irrational fear, and much more.
Anna Slaps Valentin
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) followed Anna (Finola Hughes) into the GH stairwell after she informed him there was something he needed to know. She just couldn’t tell him what it was right outside Charlotte’s (Scarlett Fernandez hospital room. Valentin knew what happened was an accident, but Anna still had to explain exactly what transpired.
After admitting she made a terrible mistake and wished she could make it all go away, Valentin told her to stop beating herself up. But Anna asked how he knew to find Charlotte at Anna’s apartment. He explained that Charlotte had disappeared, so he followed Jake’s trail.
Still, Anna had more to say and gave him Dante’s news. Her keys and red spray paint were found in Charlotte’s backpack. She was still sure a man named Forsyth had influenced Charlotte, but she was wrong. Valentin finally told Anna the truth.
There was no Forsyth, at least not in the way Anna was thinking. When Anna didn’t understand, Valentin explained that Charlotte had been stalking her for months and he was covering for her. He told her the whole sordid tale of finding his teenage daughter on the MC security footage and having Nina (Cynthia Watros) delete it.
Anna couldn’t believe her ears. Valentin allowed her to be terrified for nothing. She didn’t want to believe Charlotte set her house on fire, but Valentin didn’t know what she was capable of. As Anna absorbed this information, she grew furious.
She shot a child and would have to live with that for the rest of her life because Valentin thought he could handle a troubled, out-of-control teen on his own. After slapping him across the face, Anna stormed away while telling Valentin she could never forgive him.
Charlotte Is Terrified
Laura (Genie Francis) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) caught up outside Charlotte’s room. Liz relayed that Jake (Hudson West) was beside himself with guilt, wondering if he could have helped. Liz just wanted to know why Anna was carrying a gun around on Halloween when kids were trick-or-treating. She worried about the kids’ emotional scars.
Later, Charlotte was happy to see Laura when she woke. However, she became alarmed when Laura told her that Valentin was with Anna. Charlotte insisted that Anna was dangerous and would hurt him. Charlotte finally revealed the truth — Grandpa Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) had warned her about Anna and asked her to protect her Papa.
Charlotte told her grandmother the whole sordid tale. Victor sent her a letter telling her that Anna was a double agent and did horrible things in the past. She was only fooling Valentin by pretending to be a good person. Charlotte was sure Anna figured out she was trying to stop her so she shot her. She thought Anna shot her on purpose and would do the same to Valentin.
Spencer Says Something Very, Very Dumb
When Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) met up with Dex (Evan Hofer), Joss (Eden McCoy), and Trina (Tabyana Ali) at Dex’s apartment, Trina could tell something was wrong so he told her about Esme’s plans to take Ace and live on her own. Spencer could barely believe it when a smiling Trina expressed her relief. It was about time Esme got her own place.
Spencer became livid and started screaming at Trina that Ace belonged with him. Joss and Dex insisted on taking this out of the hallway and into his apartment where he screamed some more. Finally, Trina put a stop to his nonsense and had her say.
She apologized for making it sound like she wanted Spencer to lose Ace, but she thought it was a good idea for Esme to move out and take care of herself and her child. She thought it would also be healthy for Spencer. Joss tried to calmly explain Trina’s point, but both girls were stunned when Dex seemed to be on Spencer’s side.
Dex suggested that Spencer try to get shared custody and that’s when Trina lost it. Spencer was Ace’s brother, not his father and Esme did not have to share custody with someone who was not her child’s parent. Spencer told Trina not to make him choose between her and Ace because he would always choose his baby brother.
Neddie Is Ned Again
For the third episode in a row, Ned (Wally Kurth) floated under the dirty water outside the Q boat house, but thankfully, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) finally rescued him and brought him to the surface during her second episode submerged. When he woke, Olivia kept calling him Eddie, but it turned out he was Ned again.
Olivia was overjoyed to have her husband back. He has no idea how his memory returned while under water, but it’s where he lost it, so why not? Ned also told her she was the woman he kept seeing in his visions when he was Eddie. He finally knew how the song ended.
As they dried up in the boat house, Ned told her that he was aware of everything going on when he was Eddie and felt like he was watching it all as part of a video game. When Ned wondered if she would have accepted him as Eddie forever, she insisted that she was fighting for Ned to come back every waking moment.
In the end, Olivia had to know one thing — was Lois (Rena Sofer) the reason that Neddie became Ned again? Ned assured her that Lois had nothing to do with it.
