Mishael Morgan took a step back from The Young and the Restless last year (don’t worry, we’ll see her again soon), but she never stopped showing off her talents on and off the screen. Now, she set to be honored for acting in and producing the film Sway.
Swaying The Votes
On Saturday, February 17th, Mishael Morgan will be celebrated by the Canadian Black Screen Awards and receive the Award of Excellence. She took to Instagram to share the news with her fans. “Thank you for this honour! @bafgcanada #canada #awards #sway @swaythefilm” she wrote.
According to IMDb, Sway is the story of “a Black community leader, who has it all, sees his life spiral out of control within hours after his brother goes missing, he’s blackmailed by a strange woman, and a murder tests how far he will go to protect the ones he loves.” The movie also stars Emmanuel Kabongo and Lovell Adams-Gray.
Recently, she sat down with Digital Journal to talk about the impact Sway had on her and her excitement for the film. “I have a Political Science background so I loved how it touched on structural discrimination and it really showed that people are a reflection of their environment,” she told the publication.
