Soap opera veteran Jordi Vilasuso, who last appeared as Rey on The Young and the Restless, and his wife Kaitlin took to Instagram on the evening of Thursday, January 25 with heartbreaking news about his infant daughter. She was in the hospital thanks to a horrible virus.
Jordi Vilasusos Baby In Trouble
On this Instagram page, Vilasuso posted a message from his wife describing what happened to little Lucy.
“Ah friends.. we come to you coveting your prayers yet again. I feel like all I do is ask you all for prayers or thank you for prayers. I suppose that is just the season we’re in right now. We found out Monday that Lucy had RSV and by Monday night she had been admitted to the hospital w/ difficulty breathing.
“Last night, things unexpectedly took a turn for the worse and she was moved to NICU w/ what the doctors described as a partially collapsed right lung. I am still struggling to believe this as I type. Please please pray with us for miraculous healing for Lucy’s precious little body. We love her so much and just want her home and happy and in our arms.”
RSV is a respiratory virus that has become more prevalent since COVID began and affects mainly babies and seniors.
The Vilasusos Journey To A Third Child
Jordi and Kaitlin Vilasuso have been open about their longing for a third child and their battle to get there. They have two older daughters, Riley and Everly, and experienced several miscarriages before becoming pregnant with Lucy. There were also pregnancy complications that led to Kaitlin needing a cervical stitch to avoid premature labor. She delivered Lucy five weeks early, announcing the news on January 6.
