Former Young and the Restless star Jordi Vilasuso and wife Kaitlin have been turning to friends and family and asking for their prayers in light of newborn daughter Lucy’s medical woes. Now comes word that there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
Jordi Vilasuso’s Wife Offers Update And Gratitude
Katlin took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself holding her baby girl. “Got to hold my girl,” read the accompanying caption. “Jordi and I are so thankful for you all covering us in prayer and love, yet again. I know it sounds crazy, but we literally FEEL it and our family has gained so much strength from your encouragement.
“Our little Lucy is proving to be quite the little fighter,” continued the rightfully proud mama. “The biggest praise report is that the x-ray of her lungs looked significantly better than the one they took the night she was transferred to the NICU- PRAISE GOD.”
But a long road ahead still awaits the wee one. Explained Katlin, “She is still on the CPAP machine, but we are praying that as they try to wean her off of it, her pulse ox and respiratory rate stay strong and the CO2 in her blood continues to decrease. Once she is able to be weaned off of the CPAP, they’ll move her to regular oxygen w/o pressure and (providing vitals are good) will be able to remove the feeding tube.”
Though admittedly grateful for the positive progress, the Vilasusos are, understandably, exhausted. After all, the couple has two other children who are finding it equally hard to cope with Lucy’s predicament. Luckily, the family’s resolve is strong.
