Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 20, 2023, details the Abbotts ganging up on Jack, Devon confronting Mamie and Tucker, and Chance ready to change his life.
Saving Jabot
Diane (Susan Walters) started the day wanting to know if Kyle (Michael Mealor) had given any more thought to turning the tables on Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Tucker (Trevor St. John) so he could spy on them. Kyle didn’t think it was a good idea because he didn’t think Audra would fall for his act.
He also felt bad not telling Jack (Peter Bergman) yet. After all, he almost stole his company out from under him. Diane brushed it off saying thoughts are not actions, so there was no need or Jack to know just yet. When Jack entered the living room, Kyle didn’t tell him about the Tucker plot, but did tell him that he would be the new COO of Jabot.
Kyle explained that he had time to reflect on how he’d be acting and realized Billy (Jason Thompson) was right to call him out on his hubris. He also credited Diane with giving him the right advice. He knew he needed to prove himself to Jack now.
When Ashley (Eileen Davidson) arrived, she told the family about Mamie and Tucker’s possible connection, as well as her offer to help Tucker get back in Devon’s (Bryton James) good graces. Jack didn’t like Ashley anywhere near Tucker, but she wasn’t going to let her brother tell her what to do. Jack was stunned when Kyle and Diane both liked Ashley’s plan.
By the end of the hour, Kyle listened to his mother and contacted Audra and Ashley paid a visit to Abby to put in a good word for Tucker.
Tucker Lies And Lies Some More
Earlier, Tucker and Devon met up at the GCAC for breakfast where Devon informed his father he knew he was working with Mamie (Veronica Redd). Devon had enough of Tucker’s lies. He already lied and told Devon he was not the money behind Mamie’s buy into Chancellor-Winters.
He claimed all he wanted was to be closer to Devon but still denied what his son was accusing him of. Devon knew he was lying and started to grow exasperated, ordering Tucker to keep his hands off his company. He was done with Tucker and that was that.
When Devon left, Tucker was glad to see Ashley join him, but she also took him to task, sure that he’d done something to hurt Devon. Tucker didn’t want to talk about it but Ashley persisted. Since Tucker can’t ever, ever, ever seem to tell the truth, he claimed Phyllis was just spreading lies about him when he knew everything Devon accused him of was true.
Since she and Tucker shared a grandson, she offered to help him smooth things over with Devon. She figured she could talk Abby (Melissa Ordway) into going to bat for Tucker. He accepted her help, but didn’t think Ashley would be able to succeed.
Devon Has A Big Plan
Devon made his way to Society to see Abby. She was his sounding board and she was horrified that Tucker was so duplicitous. Abby thought that Tucker meant well but didn’t think he had it him to ever do the right thing. Suddenly, Devon had an idea and thought he could finally stop Tucker.
To that end, Devon called Jill (Jess Walton) and Lily (Christel Khalil) over to Lily’s apartment and gave him the latest update now that he confronted Tucker. He wanted them to be ready because he was sure Tucker had some kind of sinister plan in the works to get his hands on their company.
The trio then welcomed Nate (Sean Dominic) and Mamie into Lily’s home so they could confront Mamie about working with Tucker. She admitted she had been working with Tucker, but claimed their affiliation had ended. Devon soon agreed to let Nate back into the company fold if Mamie told them exactly what Tucker was up to.
Chance at Chancellor-Winters?
Nina (Tricia Cast) and Chance (Conner Floyd) made their way back to Crimson Lights from Society so they could run into Jill to have a chat. Jill was thrilled to hear that her grandson might make a change in career, so Jill immediately had an amazing idea. Chance should work at Chancellor-Winters.
Chance argued that he had no experience, so Jill offered to teach him everything she knew. Both women seemed to gang up on Chance to convince him, but Chance would only commit to thinking about it. After Jill left, Nina persisted some more, but agreed to support whatever choice Chance made.
Finally, Chance admitted that he spent his life running away from the Chancellor legacy because he didn’t think he could measure up to the Chancellors who came before him.
