The Young and the Restless recap for November 17, 2023, details Nikki’s torment, Nate’s case for himself, Chance’s big decision, and much more.
What’s Really Happening To Nikki?
Claire (Hayley Erin) sat by Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) bedside as she lay sleeping and hooked up to an IV. She even creepily brushed her hair while telling her she would be having a family reunion very soon. Claire knew if she told Nikki all that was in store, she’d get too emotional. She had been waiting for this Thanksgiving her whole life.
When Nikki woke alone, she found a bottle of whiskey on her bed. She tried to pull the IV from her hand, but didn’t have much success. She finally got out of the bed, only to realize that Claire was infusing alcohol into her veins.
Downstairs, Claire looked like she was feeling guilty until Aunt Jordan appeared behind her, leading CBS soap fans to believe they’d seen a ghost. A woman who looked just like Oakdale’s Barbara Ryan appeared and told Claire they’d waited so long and were so close to their goal.
Nate Wants His Old Job Back
Jill (Jess Walton), Lily (Christel Khalil), and Devon (Bryton James) prepared for a meeting with Nate (Sean Dominic) in Lily’s apartment and looked forward to hearing what he had to say. When he arrived, he had Aunt Mamie (Veronica Redd) with him. Jill was not happy to see Mamie, but Nate wanted her there as moral support.
Nate was ready to make amends and return to Chancellor Winters, but first, he had to make a case for himself. He explained that he no longer had a job at Chancellor-Winters and why. Lily was horrified by what Victor (Eric Braeden) did, but Jill seemed highly impressed.
Nate insisted that Victor was wrong and he was only trying to help, but considering the mess Nate caused at Chancellor-Winters, Jill, Lily, and Devon couldn’t be too sure. When Devon learned that Nate arranged to have Victor committed without his consent, he had a lot of questions.
Mamie finally interjected and focused on the family aspect of the decision but Jill still wasn’t sure. She didn’t see Nate as a team player. All she saw was a man who kept pissing people off. So, Nate explained he learned his lesson and now knows the value of collaborating rather than trying to one-up others.
After Nate and Mamie left, Devon, Jill, and Lily discussed the matter. Lily believed in second chances but Devon didn’t think Nate would care about Chancellor-Winters if Victor hadn’t fired him. Lily and Devon wanted to know if the Victor story was true, but Jill didn’t think Nate was lying. She was leaning towards giving Nate his job back.
Chance Is All Better
Sharon (Sharon Case) caught up with Mariah (Camryn Grimes and Tessa at Crimson Lights and learned all about how well Aria was adjusting to her hearing aids. Before they knew it, Chance appeared, newly-released from the hospital and ready to see Sharon.
Nina soon showed up and couldn’t believe Chance left the hospital without telling her. The ladies all sat down to chat with Chance, so Nina took the opportunity to launch into another speech about Chance finding a new career.
Chance, Sharon, and Nina all made their way to Society for more celebration. When they got there, Nina asked Abby to sit with them and asked for her input on the Chance career change debate. Abby was all for Chance walking away from being a cop.
Nina even suggested that Chance enter the corporate world just as Summer walked in. She was thrilled to see Chance out of the hospital, but Sharon was not happy to see her at all.
