Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for December 14, 2023, details Jordan’s latest plans, Nikki’s drinking, Claire’s choice, and more.
The Saga Of Jordan And Claire
Victor (Eric Braeden) was surprised to hear that Michael (Christian Le Blanc) had agreed to represent Claire (Hayley Erin). He worried about Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and all the memories and emotions it would bring back. He didn’t think his daughter was strong enough to deal with this ordeal.
Michael did his best to defend Claire, pointing out she saved the Newman clan’s lives by getting them the antidote. He was sure Jordan was a monster but didn’t feel Claire was. All Victor could do was call Michael crazy and Claire nuts.
Victor warned Michael he would make sure Claire was put behind bars, but Michael wondered if he would feel the same if Claire turned out to be his granddaughter. Victor didn’t even want to entertain the idea and pointedly did NOT wish Michael good luck at the arraignment.
When Michael got to Oregon, he told Claire he needed her to plead guilty by reason of insanity.
Back at the ranch, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) quickly hid the vodka she was about to swig down. Victoria was none-the-wiser when she poured her heart out to her mother about what was going on with Claire. Like Victor, Nikki was also incensed when she learned that Victoria hired Michael to help Claire.
Victoria explained that Michael would try to get Claire into a mental health facility in Genoa City. Nikki worried this innocent act was all part of Claire and Jordan’s ultimate plan to gain their trust.
Jordan (Colleen Zenk) remained holed up in her seedy motel room, but was impressed to see an APB put out on her. She even called the tip line and led the cops on a wild goose chase so she could lure Victor into a trap.
When Victor told Nikki the news about Jordan being spotted in GC, she completely freaked out, especially when Victor headed to the seedy motel to see what the heck was going on. Once she was alone, Nikki drank some more and started hiding vodka around the house.
Victor and Nick (Joshua Morrow) finally made their way to the motel room where they found the poison vials and Jordan’s photo album. Victor immediately knew this was a setup. Jordan herself was in a fancy GCAC room getting herself all dolled up in a blonde wig.
Christine Claims Her Man
Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Chance (Conner Floyd) met up at Society so he could tell her that he was resigning. He was ready to change careers but as district attorney, Christine wanted to keep Chance as a cop. She was shocked when she heard he was now joining the corporate world.
Danny (Michael Damian) was surprised when Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) showed up at the front door, ostensibly to give Daniel a housewarming gift. Daniel wasn’t around so Danny invited her in. She made herself right at home and questioned Danny about his music and invited him to lunch.
Surprisingly, Danny took her up on the offer and of course, they ended up at Society. When Christine saw them, she asked to talk outside. Danny assured Chris that his lunch was Phyllis was just casual. Danny insisted he and Phyllis were just friends, but that Christine was much more. He then planted a kiss on her that Phyllis saw through the window.
A New Start For Adam And Sally
When Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) ran into Nick at Crimson Lights, she tried to get him to reconsider his breakup with Sally (Courtney Hope), but no dice. He was finished.
As for Sally, she sat down for lunch with Adam (Mark Grossman). They were both nervous that the non-date would turn into a disaster. They were both nervous, but Adam was confident that things would go well — even if things felt a bit awkward. Adam was willing to try to reset their relationship and hoped Sally would be too.
They made some small talk about work, so Sally took the opportunity to tell Adam that Chloe hates him with the fire of a thousand suns. Adam didn’t care, as long as Sally was working with someone who had her back.
Talk turned to Adam’s work life next. Sally was impressed that Adam was now like a teacher’s pet since he came to his father’s fake dementia rescue. Finally, Sally agreed to an official dinner date.
