Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for December 7, 2023, details Nate’s latest career change, Jack and Billy’s concerns, and Jill and Mamie’s near truce.
Nate Gets Good News
Upon hearing that Devon (Bryton James) and Lily (Christel Khalil) wanted him to sit down to discuss his professional fate, Nate (Sean Dominic) felt this wasn’t good news and they weren’t going to re-hire him at Chancellor-Winters. Upon hearing that Victor (Eric Braeden) didn’t have glowing words, Nate once again defended himself.
Lily seemed to have fewer doubts about him than Devon and wanted to let bygones be bygones. They were willing to give him another shot, something that stunned Nate. He was even surprised that Jill (Jess Walton) was okay with the move.
Nate assured them that they could trust him, despite everything he did last year. Nate accepted their offer to work in the content development department and couldn’t wait to tell Aunt Mamie (Veronica Redd) the news.
Before he got a chance, Lily got a call about a fire at Matty’s college and took off to make sure she was okay.
The Abbotts Plot
Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack (Peter Bergman) reveled in the idea of having Kyle back in the family fold, both professionally and personally. Jack was sure his son would be more dedicated than ever. When Billy (Jason Thompson) arrived home, he told them all about his latest meeting with his mother.
She felt Tucker (Trevor St. John) was about to make moves on both Chancellor-Winters and Jabot. Jack was shocked by Billy’s next bombshell. Jill wanted him to come to work with her because she needed familial allies at her company.
While Billy didn’t want to leave Jabot, he still wanted to help Jill. To that end, he suggested they join forces with Jill to defeat Tucker. They didn’t know his endgame, but they knew his immediate plans and could thwart him with help.
Jack didn’t like the idea at all and thought Jill was just manipulating Billy to get him to join her company. He also thought that Tucker was doing nothing but playing head games with them.
A Partnership For Jill And Mamie?
Jill wasn’t happy when Tucker tried to buy her a drink at Society and warned him he was never going to get his hands on Chancellor-Winters. She’s even made new legal provisions to ensure he’d never, ever get control of her company.
When Mamie walked in and saw them together, she approached the table. Jill asked them both to stop pretending they were in cahoots. Mamie declared she would no longer work with the man who broke Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) heart.
Tucker went right for the jugular and asked Jill to name a price for Chancellor-Winters, but she certainly wasn’t planning to sell. Mamie suggested she sell to her instead and all Jill could do was laugh. Tucker continued to stir the pot and make veiled threats against Jill and Mamie.
After Tucker left, Jill and Mamie had a little chat. Surprisingly, Jill asked Mamie to join forces with her to rid themselves both of Tucker. After all their animosity through the decades, it seemed like an absurd idea.
Jill’s next stop was the Abbott mansion where she was disappointed to learn that Billy wasn’t going to quit Jabot for Chancellor-Winters. However, the Abbotts were willing to do what Billy suggested — team up with Jill to get rid of Tucker. It turned out Jill also thought Tucker was playing mind games.
As for Mamie, she had another encounter with Tucker at the GCAC where he told her he was backing off. Mamie didn’t buy it and accused him of playing games.
