Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 6, 2023, details Victor’s latest move, Claire’s over-achieving secrecy, and Mariah and Tessa’s parental fears.
Victor’s Act Just Won’t Stop
Nick (Joshua Morrow) joined Adam (Mark Grossman) at the GCAC where they discussed the doctor Adam found who would pretend to run into Victor (Eric Braeden) and judge his mental competence. Nick didn’t like the idea but Adam wanted him to at least try to go along with it.
Adam knew Nick still didn’t trust him so he brought up all the good things he’d done for the family, including taking a bullet for their dad and donating a kidney to Nick’s daughter. Adam insisted that he was being genuine and didn’t want to see their father fade away.
As for Victor, he continued his act with a hesitant Victoria (Amelia Heinle). She tried to tell him he was making a bad business deal and he accused her of claiming he was unfit to be at the helm of Newman Enterprises. He didn’t want to talk about it any further and announced he was going to meet Adam. When Nate (Sean Dominic) offered to drive him to the meeting, Victor feigned outrage.
After Victor left, Nate told Victoria everything Victor had told him in confidence, proving who he was once again. Victoria was particularly perplexed after learning from Nick that Victor was allegedly faking everything. The more Nate spoke, the more Victoria believed something really was wrong with Victor.
Nick Infuriates Adam
Victor finally made it to the club and continued with his little game. Adam still fell for it until Nick told him this all had to stop because he needed help. Then, he opened his big mouth and told Victor about Adam’s plan for him to accidentally meet a specialist.
Adam was furious at his brother but had to admit that it was true. He was genuinely concerned about Victor’s odd behavior and memory loss. Adam insisted he just wanted to help. An angry Victor tried to leave until he saw Victoria walk in. In a huff, he called a family meeting and ordered everyone back to the office.
When they got there, Nate and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) also showed up to hear Victor declare that he was ready to tell the truth.
Claire’s Big Secret
Earlier, Nikki couldn’t stop thinking about what her kids were going through thanks to Victor’s dementia act. She was sure Adam was the bad guy and hated that her own kids were affected by this. Claire (Hayley Erin) arrived at her office to interrupt Nikki’s thoughts.
When Nikki claimed she was having family issues, Claire tried to see if she could find out what was going on and then offer help. Nikki didn’t want to talk about it but that didn’t stop Claire from apologizing for seeming like she was trying to pry. She even offered to listen any time Nikki wanted to talk.
Nate later found a forlorn Claire in the halls and tried to find out what was wrong. Claire worried she wasn’t living up to her job requirements, so Nate told her she might be too helpful. He also assured her that Nikki would tell her if she was crossing any lines. He even seemed intrigued when Claire suggested they get together outside of work.
Claire’s next stop was Crimson Lights where she made small talk with Sharon and then got a mysterious phone call. She told the person on the other end that she was making progress but needed more time.
Mariah And Tessa’s Aria Dreams Come True
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) gathered at Crimson Lights with Sharon (Sharon Case) and Aria to discuss their worries and fears about the baby’s big day. She was finally getting her hearing aids but they worried they wouldn’t work and Aria would still not be able to hear when they were put on.
They worried she wouldn’t even like the hearing aids and worried that she would grow up feeling different. Sharon reassured them she would be okay. She even informed the moms that she found baby dolls with hearing aids online. Finally, the moms left for the doctor’s appointment collectively holding their breath.
The doctor explained to them Aria would have to get used to the hearing aids, but they seemed to do the trick. Aria responded when Tessa sang and when Sharon started talking to her when they all returned to Crimson Lights.
