Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 14, 2023, details Victor’s attempt to make amends, Nikki’s dangerous trip, Nate’s new chapter, and much more.
Victor Took The Honest Approach
Victor (Eric Braeden) assured Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that he had things under control with the family infighting so she should go on her trip with no worries. She could see her sister Casey and meet Claire’s (Hayley Erin) aunt for a peaceful little getaway. Victor knew he caused the family problems so he would solve them.
To that end, he summoned both Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to his office to tell them he intended to remain CEO but wanted them by his side. Nick was willing to forgive and join their father at Newman Enterprises, but Victoria didn’t feel the same. She was hurt that Victor didn’t trust her and angry about what he did to Nate (Sean Dominic).
Victor told his daughter it was time to toss Nate out of her life. She didn’t need him and he couldn’t be trusted. Of course, Victoria refused so Victor got blunt. Like many fans, Victor has always questioned his daughter’s poor choices in men. Victoria was highly offended but her father didn’t care. She needed to get rid of Nate and that was that.
In the end, Victoria declared she was not giving up Nate but also wouldn’t leave the company — as long as Adam (Mark Grossman) is never given another role of power. Victor became incensed when Nick expressed the same sentiments. They were all siblings and he wanted them to get along.
Nikki Fell Into a Trap
Claire checked in with her aunt and told her she knew how important this trip was. She would do whatever was necessary to make it a success. Nikki soon arrived so Claire put on a happy face and said she couldn’t wait for the trip.
In the blink of an eye, the trip commenced with Claire and Nikki arriving at the lake house. Of course, the aunt was nowhere to be found so Claire claimed she must have been sitting by the water. She made her childhood seem happy and idyllic as they made small talk and Nikki sipped tea without care in the world.
Nikki made note of the fact that Claire wasn’t drinking any tea before she suddenly felt tired and light-headed. Before she knew it, Nikki was nearly passed out on the floor with Claire standing over her glaring.
Mamie Gets Her Wish
Nate and Adam met up at the GCAC where Adam reveled in Nate being fired and couldn’t stop getting digs in. Nate was still sure that Adam was the real disloyal one but Adam took pleasure in knowing it was Nate. In the end, their sparring got them nowhere.
After Adam left, Nate sat down with Mamie (Veronic Redd) and got some good advice. He told her everything that happened with Victor and she wasn’t surprised. After all, Victor was a ruthless man, just like his biography stated. Nate wasn’t happy but admitted that Mamie warned him and he didn’t listen.
Mamie was thrilled with the news. Now he could return to the family fold and work for Chancellor-Winters again. It was where he belonged. For once, Nate didn’t disagree. Even Devon (Bryton James) wanted him back so they’d have to see how to make it official.
Jack Worries For Ashley
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was surprised when Jack (Peter Bergman) showed her a pre-published article about Tucker (Trevor St. John) covering up the statutory rape of a teenage girl. He explained he would give his friend the go-ahead to publish the article as part of their revenge plot against Tucker. Ashley was immediately against the idea because she thought it was too harsh.
The siblings started to argue until Diane (Susan Walters) put a stop to it and suggested that Jack listen to his sister. Ashley explained that this would make Tucker even angrier and therefore more dangerous. She also didn’t think a public humiliation would do much because Tucker had nothing to lose at the moment.
Ashley just felt she needed a little more time to make inroads with her ex and Diane agreed, much to Jack’s chagrin. After Ashley left, Jack admitted he was worried about Ashley and wanted her to stay as far from Ashley as possible. He felt Ashley was still drawn to Tucker and would fall for him again.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Ashley soon met for coffee at Crimson Lights where Abby warned her mom to stay away from Tucker. She also told Ashley that Devon and Lily seemed to think Tucker was behind Mamie’s return. Ashley was shocked by the news but then realized it made sense. This was his way of ousting Jill and handing Devon the whole company.
