Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 16, 2023, details Nikki’s creepy lake house adventure, Victor’s fury at Victoria, Tucker’s coup plot troubles, and more.
Nikki’s Attempted Escape
A panicked Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) tried to figure out what was really going on with Claire (Hayley Erin). She reasoned with herself that she’d been through much more than this during her four decades as a soap opera character, so she was sure she could get out of this little jam.
As Nikki searched the room, she found an item that allowed her to pick the lock. She made her way into the living room and grabbed the landline phone, but the line was dead. As she tried to get a dial tone, Claire came right up behind her and injected a syringe into her neck.
A woozy Nikki begged Claire to tell her what she wanted, but Claire wasn’t about to spoil the surprise until everyone got there. When Nikki asked who ‘everyone’ was, Claire began talking about her family, describing them as dysfunctional people who think they are above everyone else.
Claire later promised a sleeping Nikki that she’d have all her answers soon. However, she wouldn’t like them. She then texted a mystery person for help before bringing Nikki back upstairs, putting her to bed, and hooking her to an IV. When Nikki woke, she began hallucinating and saw Victor (Eric Braeden) in the room.
Victor Offered Victoria Some Harsh Truths
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) automatically knew why her brothers were visiting her at the GCAC. They were going to work for Victor (Eric Braeden) and wanted her to have a change of heart and stay on even if Adam (Mark Grossman) had a position of power. Nick (Joshua Morrow) convinced Adam and Victoria to offer one another fake apologies, so he thought they were getting somewhere.
Nick tried to get Victoria to consider staying on just to babysit Adam, something Adam didn’t appreciate hearing as he was seated right there. Nick also pointed out that the three of them needed to work together or Victor would kick them all to the curb.
Finally, Victoria paid a visit to Victor and accused him of disrespecting her by sending her brothers to try to strong-arm her to stay with Newman. She thought he didn’t trust her instincts. Victor defended himself, pointing out all the terrible men she chose thanks to her stellar instincts.
Victoria asked her to leave her personal life out of things but Victor rightfully pointed out that she brings her personal life into her business life. He only wanted her back at the company for Nikki’s sake — and her own. He wanted her to thrive but Victoria wondered how she could when he was constantly pushing her down.
That line triggered Victor because he couldn’t believe the gall of his daughter, a woman whom he allowed to be CEO. All Victoria could do was complain about Adam, but that wasn’t going to fly anymore with Victor, who asked her what she would even have without him.
Victor claimed he once respected her, but not anymore. He knew she would ‘spin out’ if she didn’t have Newman to focus on. An insulted Victoria stormed out as Victor nonchalantly played around on his phone.
Tucker Takes It All In Stride
Audra (Zuleyka Silver) met with Tucker (Trevor St. John) to give him the bad news about Kyle (Michael Mealor). Tucker wasn’t exactly surprised and seemed calm but Audra was panicked. She was sure that Kyle would tell Jack the whole plan and figured this would happen sooner rather than later.
Tucker knew from the outset that Kyle didn’t have it in him to play so dirty. He was even disappointed in Audra for not expecting this turn of events. However, he believed that Kyle would be back on their side and asked Audra to be patient and bide her time.
Tucker was sure that Jack (Peter Bergman) would send Kyle right back to him to be a spy and Tucker would be ready. What Tucker didn’t count on was Diane (Susan Walters) helping him out. Kyle told her before he told Jack and she suggested they not tell him yet so he could turn the tables on Audra and get the details of Tucker’s plan.
Before they could discuss the matter any further, Jill (Jess Walton) showed up. Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Lily (Christel Khalil) just told her that Tucker is behind Mamie’s buying Victor’s shares of Chancellor-Winters and she wanted to give him a piece of her mind.
