Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 7, 2023, details Victor’s ultimate plan, two big returns, and Devon and Lily’s dilemma.
Victor Has The Last Laugh
Victor (Eric Braeden) announced to his family that he was finally telling them the truth — his mental state has been “precarious” of late and he’s been living in denial. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) looked perplexed and annoyed by all of it, while Nate (Sean Dominic) and his adult kids seemed both curious and concerned.
Adam (Mark Grossman) and his siblings were sympathetic towards Victor’s alleged plight but Victor had a bone to pick with Adam for trying to trick him into seeing a psychiatrist. He then apologized to Nick (Joshua Morrow) for pretending he was faking it, although he was still faking it.
Nate insisted they needed a diagnosis and treatment plan while Victor talked about keeping the integrity of the company intact. Nate had already put in some calls and found him the perfect private clinic. In fact, Nate had a press release ready to easily explain (and lie) about Victor’s absence.
Too bad Adam didn’t like the idea because he didn’t believe think they could keep things quiet. He thought it would be a better idea if Victor had private treatment at home rather than in a clinic so nobody would figure out what was really going on.
Nate and Adam argued back and forth about it so Victoria (Amelia Heinle) finally asked Nikki what she thought. Nikki just wanted a diagnosis first and Victoria understood. She also oddly agreed with Adam over Nate. As Nate argued his point, Victor seemed to realize that Nate wanted him out of the way for a while.
When Victor asked who would run the company while he was away, Nate insisted it had to be Victoria. Interestingly enough, Victor was looking at his phone during most of the debate. When Nate finished making his case, Victor gave him a wink and a smile — and then promptly fired him.
A Truce For Nate And Devon?
Devon (Bryton James) met up with Abby (Melissa Ordway) at Society and couldn’t wait to tell her how great Aria was doing with her new hearing aids. Soon the subject turned to his upcoming meeting with Lily (Christel Khalil). Devon knew that Aunt Mamie (Veronica Redd) wanted him and his sister to forgive Nate and bring him back on board at their company, but he didn’t think he could do it.
Abby was surprised when Devon also informed her that he believed Tucker (Trevor St. John) was behind Mamie’s financial interest in Chancellor-Winters. That put a whole different spin on things. She just wanted him to get out of their lives and leave them all alone.
When Devon and Lily finally met, it was clear neither of them could forgive Nate so easily. They also worried that Mamie’s ultimate plan with their company was to push Jill (Jess Walton) out of it altogether. After all, her rivalry with Jill is decades-long and legendary.
When the topic of conversation turned back to Nate, they decided he was better off at Newman Enterprises. Lily still wanted to reconcile with Nate on a familial level so Devon sent him a message asking to meet for a drink.
Welcome Home Heather And Lucy
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) wanted Lily to be there while he and Sally consulted on the decor for his new apartment. Unfortunately, Lily had to meet with Devon to discuss Chancellor-Winters business. Daniel wanted to make sure that Lily was still happy that he’d bought an apartment so close to her, so she kissed him to give him an answer.
Heather (Vail Bloom) and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Brient) arrived at the Genoa City Athletic Club with their luggage ready to move in. Lucy wasn’t thrilled about living in a hotel and wanted a real home but Heather didn’t see a problem with it for now. Lucy was also excited to live near her dad again.
After some prompting, Heather finally called Daniel and left a message — did he have a place for them to stay yet? Daniel didn’t even notice the message when he first arrived back at his new place with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Sally (Courtney Hope) for their decorating consult. Imagine his surprise when they just showed up at his door. It looked like Lucy was moving in white Heather would be staying at the GCAC.
Sally’s New Outlook
Earlier, Sally was excited to tell Chloe all about meeting with her first client Daniel Romalotti while they enjoyed some coffee at Crimson Lights. Sally finally had something exciting to look forward to. Chloe was so impressed with Sally’s good mood that she was sure that she and Nick had worked things out.
Sally didn’t tell her whether that was true or not, nor did she tell her that she slept with Adam. Instead, she just said she was sick of moping around and was going to live her life to the fullest now. She was going to throw away her “poor me” attitude and enjoy starting her new business.
