Today’s General Hospital recap for November 28, 2023, details the Qs eating pizza, Ava getting a big invite, Spencer and Trina surprising her family, and Anna giving Nina a piece of her mind.
How The Quartermaines Got Their Pizza
The fire alarm continued to go off in the Q house, signaling there was something wrong with the turkey once again. Gloria (Ellen Travolta) didn’t even seem to care and was preoccupied with messages on her phone. In the end, it turned out the onions burned, setting off the sprinklers, so now the turkey was wet and unusable.
Lois (Rena Sofer) knew darn well that her mother was preoccupied because she was a much more careful cook. Lois was determined to order a turkey from the Metro Court. All she had to do was place a call and Nina (Cynthia Watros) promised to deliver.
Once alone, Gloria confessed to Lois that when she was playing Bingo on Nostrand Ave, she had a fight with a Russian woman and got kicked out of Bingo. Lois knew there had to be more to the story, but Chase interrupted them before Gloria could say more. Later, Lois learned her mother angered a Brighton Beach mafia kingpin. At least Yuri overheard the whole conversation and agreed to help.
Eventually, Nina showed up with food, but not turkey since the restaurant was out. Instead, she had pizza, making it a Q Thanksgiving after all. Ned answered the door and assured her that he wouldn’t say a word about her secret. Of course, Wiley was thrilled to see his grandmother.
Earlier, Nina made a daring move and left a gift basket outside Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael’s (Chad Duell) gatehouse. When Wiley opened it, he was thrilled it came from Grandma Nina, but Michael was dismayed. At least Willow thought it was wonderful. She asked Michael to just fake liking Nina for their kids’ sake.
Willow insisted that Nina was a part of their family now and didn’t know why Michael wanted to rekindle bad memories.
Anna Is Angry
Anna (Finola Hughes) had just what she needed for the holiday with her loved ones around her. She, Robert (Tristan Rogers), and Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) arrived at the Metro Court restaurant to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with Diane (Carolyn Hennesy). Anna and Emma were surprised to see her while Diane was surprised that Robert was not alone.
When Nina made her way back to work, Anna spotted her and glared. She later made it her business to corner her in the lounge area and question her about why Nina deleted the security footage of Charlotte breaking into her room.
Anna told Nina that she was as responsible for Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) being shot as anyone. Nina defended herself and said she was just doing a favor for a friend so Anna asked if she thought Sonny (Maurice Benard) would see it that way. After Nina left, Sonny arrived, so he and Anna had a chat. When Nina finally returned, Sonny could sense the tension between his wife and his friend.
Joss And Dex’s Turkey Day
Carly (Laura Wright) was thrilled when Sonny brought Avery over to enjoy Thanksgiving with her, Drew (Cameron Mathison), Scout, and Donna. He even allowed Dex (Evan Hofer) to take a break from work and spend some time with Josslyn (Eden McCoy). Oddly, Ava (Maura West) was the next guest to arrive, proving that people can show grace in this world if given enough time.
Carly said she invited Ava at Joss’ insistence. She also wanted Avery to have her mother there because she wanted what was best for the kids. In the end, Dex ended up staying after Sonny left and Ava felt welcome in a new home with her daughter.
Spencer And Trina’s First Holiday Together
As Portia (Brook Kerr) left a voicemail for Trina (Tabyana Ali) to console her about her problems with Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), Trina and her boyfriend were busy in bed with no problems at all. They were thankful for the day, thankful for one another, and very much in love.
Spencer was thankful to Trina as well, including the fact that she made him see he could still be a part of Ace’s life even if he was no longer living with his baby brother.
Curtis (Donnell Turner) told Marshall (Robert Gossett) that he was determined to find out who shot him, but Marshall wasn’t sure it was a good idea. However, Curtis now felt he had a purpose in life and finally convinced Marshall he was doing the right thing.
The men soon welcomed Spencer and Trina for the holiday and he experienced a Thanksgiving feast like never before. Too bad Portia wasn’t happy to see him there. She wanted Trina and Spencer to call it quits, but it wasn’t meant to be.
