Today’s General Hospital recap for December 19, 2023, details Anna’s nightmare coming to an end for now, as well as Nina’s blackmail problems, and Lucy’s Deception issues.
Catching Brennan
When Carly (Laura Wright) saw Sam looking at an article with Brennan’s (Charles Mesure) photo, she was stunned to hear that the man who has been showing up everywhere she’s been is the head of the WSB. She told Sam he was just there but ran out quickly, worrying Sam that Dante was in danger.
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) made their way to the docks to meet a witness they thought could help. Anna thought this was the moment they could bring Brennan down, not realizing Hume was listening to the whole conversation.
Both Anna and Dante knew they had to get out of there when Sam (Kelly Monaco) called with news about Brennan. However, Hume started shooting before they could leave. As they hid behind some crates, Holmes told them both to make an appearance before things got worse.
Anna came out from her hiding spot and tried to reason with Hume while Dante clocked him from behind. They finally found his ID and learned he worked for Pikeman. However, they still wanted Brennan and Sam believed she knew where he was.
After Sam left, Carly started to close up, but then Brennan arrived and Carly knew she was in trouble. She kept her cool and didn’t mention that she knew who he was. She even offered to make him some meatloaf.
Too bad he picked up her phone and saw that she was reading an article about him and knew his little secret. Carly still tried to play it cool, but Brennan wasn’t having it. So, she threatened that Drew (Cameron Mathison) or Sonny (Maurice Benard) would kill him. Then, she smashed him across the face with a serving tray before Dante and Anna arrived with their guns. Brennan was arrested, but is he gone for good?
Nina Needs Help
Ava (Maura West) has been confessing all her life troubles to Nina (Cynthia Watros) of late, so this time it was Nina’s turn when she showed up at Ava’s front door to beg for help. Ava got to hear the whole sordid tale of Michael (Chad Duell) emotionally blackmailing Nina to stay away from Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Ned just plain blackmailing her so she’d commit corporate espionage on his behalf.
As Nina explained, a line is forming to blackmail her. Ava didn’t have much advice except to make Ned happy and find something on Michael that Ned would deem useful. Ava felt for Nina, but she had problems of his own to deal with.
So, Nina got to learn Ava’s problems when her BFF showed her the gun that her stalker left. Ava thought Nikolas might be the one torturing her, but she wasn’t sure. Nina finally convinced a frantic Ava to make their way to Rice Plaza to see the little girls perform.
Sonny and Michael were there to support Donna and Avery in a Rice Plaza nativity scene but were alarmed when Cyrus (Jeff Kober) appeared out of nowhere to announce he was also part of the performance. He was going to be a wise man.
Sonny informed Cyrus that Martin (Michael E. Knight) was replacing him and that was that. Laura (Genie Francis) asked him one brother not to cause trouble for the other — do it for her as his sister. Amazingly, Cyrus agreed. Elsewhere, Donna told Michael it would be the best Christmas ever because Mommy Nina was not a member of the family.
When Nina and Ava arrived, Nina pulled Michael aside and told him that Ned knew everything and was now blackmailing her. She wanted Michael to help her get Ned off her back so Michael could continue his own blackmail scheme. She also had to explain it all to Michael like he was five.
Nina then turned the tables on Michael. If he didn’t help her and Ned told Sonny the truth, then she would tell Carly that Michael knew who tipped off the SEC for months and never said anything. Since he couldn’t have Mommy mad at him, he agreed to Nina’s demands. Little did they know that Cyrus heard the whole conversation.
Deception Deceptions
Ned (Wally Kurth) was surprised to hear that Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) would be going back to work at Deception as the boss lady. He was further shocked that Lois (Rena Sofer) supported this move. How could she let her give up music to be an executive?
Lois then explained BLQ’s plan to gain control of the company and hand it to Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Brook Lynn was even willing to turn to blackmail to get the job done. Ned was impressed because he knew she was finally a true Quartermaine.
Over at the Port Charles Grille, Lucy (Lynn Herring) lamented her troubles to Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), but balked when he suggested inviting Scott (Kin Shriner)over from the bar to sit with them. At least Scott got some company when Tracy (Jane Elliot) arrived. They got drunk together with Tracy having no idea that her family was about to screw her over.
