Today’s General Hospital recap for December 27, 2023, details a Deception debacle, Gregory’s bad health, Alexis’s advice, and Felicia’s quest.
Deception Deceptions Continue
The Deception office was pure chaos as Lucy (Lynn Herring), Maxie, and Tracy (Jane Elliot) all tried working together. Maxie tried to keep the peace as Tracy and Lucy squabbled but Lucy laid a low blow when she accused Tracy of having no life since Luke died.
Maxie warned her not to go there, but Lucy was off — telling her that Laura (Genie Francis) and Holly (Emma Samms) were the loves of Luke’s (Tony Geary) life and not Tracy. So, Tracy fought back and reminded her that Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) was now married to Laura. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) walked in when Lucy was going off, telling Tracy she’d die as she lived, unloved and unlovable.
Hearing that infuriated BLQ and made her more determined than ever to give Maxie as much of Deception as she could while kicking Lucy out. As Brook Lynn read Lucy for filth and defended her grandmother, Tracy looked genuinely touched.
A furious Lucy stormed off and found Scott (Kin Shriner) so she could demand he romance and marry Tracy — and then take her for all she’s worth. Um…eww?
Gregory’s Collapse
Brook Lynn was touched when Chase (Josh Swickard) told her he was looking for a wedding venue that was accessible for people with disabilities, making Brook Lynn remember that Gregory wants to live to see his son marry. That meant they should pick a wedding date that was sooner rather than later.
BLQ decided to not go to work so she could stay with Chase. She was sure there was something going on with Gregory and his condition was worse than he let on. However, Chase convinced her to go and so she wouldn’t have to deal with Tracy’s wrath.
At GH, Gregory’s condition seemed to be getting worse as he lay in the ER getting IV fluids. Apparently, he became dehydrated while doing hot yoga but also needed to be admitted for observation.
A concerned Finn (Michael Easton) called Chase and told him to get to the hospital right away. The doctor was worried that Gregory’s collapse during hot yoga was a new symptom of his disease.
Legal Dilemmas
Now that Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) have decided to go ahead with Kristina being the surrogate and the egg donor, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had to take the time to explain to her daughters the legalities of what they were about to do.
She warned them there could be a major legal problem down the road. It seemed there was no legal contract that could make the baby Molly’s once it was born. In the state of NY, a surrogate had to use a third-party egg donor and not a family member. A genetic surrogacy contract wouldn’t be enforceable, but Kristina didn’t care.
Instead, she felt Alexis was just trying to discourage them from going ahead with their plan. Alexis said that was the furthest thing from the truth and tried to prove it by offering them some legal advice — they could have Molly adopt the child after it was born. Kristina and Molly just wanted to handle this on their own.
Cody’s Secret
Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) stopped by the Q stables to see Cody (Josh Kelly) and warn him. His secret was about to come out. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) already suspected that Cody was lying about not being Mac’s (John J. York) son and she was determined to get to the whole truth.
Sasha did her best to get Cody to just tell the truth with Cody still insisting Mac didn’t deserve a guy like him as a son. Sasha refused to back down and told him she knows how hard it can be to get out of a parent lie once it started. She already had to do it with Nina (Cynthia Watros).
Cody refused to budge. He was sure if the truth came out, he’d end up in Pentonville. Thanks to Scott’s lawsuit, he signed an affidavit swearing he was Leoopold’s son, which was a crime. Cody may have dropped the lawsuit, but Cody still committed perjury with that document.
Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Felicia met up at Kelly’s where she told him she thought Cody told a little fib when he got the DNA test results. Robert didn’t seem too surprised, but wished his brother didn’t have “this jerk” as a son.
Felicia explained that Cody seems to truly care about their family. He even seems to have a bond with Mac and James — and fits right into their family. Robert just wanted to why Cody would lie. When Robert brought up finding Cody talking about Leopold Taub’s necklace, Felicia realized it was the key to this whole charade.
When Felicia spotted Scott at another table, she joined him and asked about the lawsuit. Scott told her it was Cody who chose to drop it.
