Today’s General Hospital recap for November 9, 2023, details Charlotte’s tall tales, Dante’s big news, Spencer’s shock, and much more.
Charlotte Wakes And Fibs
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) sat vigil by Charlotte’s (Scarlett Fernandez) side and were relieved when she finally woke up. She was happy to see Papa and Nina there together but wanted to know why Anna (Finola Hughes) shot her. She especially wanted to know what Anna told Valentin about what happened.
However, Valentin had more questions than his daughter. Why did she leave her friend group and why did she go to Anna’s apartment? Furthermore, how did she get in? She explained that she switched her costume so that Valentin wouldn’t see her in a tarot card costume because he didn’t like the cards.
She then claimed that she only went to Anna’s place because she found her key and wanted to give it back. She claimed that she only wanted to help. Once alone in the hall, Valentin told Nina that his daughter was lying about everything.
Anna’s Theory Is Still Wrong
Sonny (Maurice Benard) tried to stop Anna from leaving his apartment but she insisted on seeing Valentin and explaining what happened. Sonny admitted that as a father, he wasn’t sure he could even accept Anna’s explanations so soon after one of his children was shot.
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) soon came by to interrupt the conversation and update Anna on the investigation. He wanted to know how Charlotte got into her apartment. Anna insisted she locked the door and that’s how she knew there was an intruder. The door was unlocked so she thought her stalker was inside and pulled her gun.
Anna was stunned when Dante told her that her keys and red spray paint were found in Charlotte’s backpack. Anna worried that the man from her WSB days, Forsyth, was using Charlotte to get to her. She ran from the apartment to talk to Valentin while Sonny and Dante tried to figure out who was really influencing Charlotte, if anyone.
Esme Stuns Spencer
Laura (Genie Francis) and Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) sat down for a meal at the Metro Court where Laura shocked her grandson by telling him Charlotte had been shot. Laura didn’t blame Anna but they both wondered why Charlotte was even in Anna’s apartment to begin with.
Laura had other news for Spencer, as well. Before she had a chance to drop another bombshell, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) showed up and announced she’d found the perfect apartment. Laura willed her to keep quiet since Spencer didn’t know she planned to move out, but now he did — and he wasn’t happy.
Spencer explained that Esme didn’t know what was best for Ace but she insisted that she was his mother and she did. She wasn’t backing down and Laura was still willing to co-sign her lease. An angry Esme left the table so Spencer could take Laura to task for supporting Esme’s idea.
He felt that Esme was trying to take Ace away from him. Laura insisted that Ace would always need Spencer, but as his big brother and not as a father. Spencer still insisted that Ace needed to stay with him.
Deception And The Quartermaines
Maxie (Kirsten Storms) was thrilled to be working with a famed photographer but he refused to work with Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) due to her previous drug problems. Sasha overheard the argument so she took the opportunity to defend herself. He finally agreed to work with her and they got down to business.
Cody (Josh Kelly) arrived in the middle of the session and was mesmerized by what he saw. He even ended up becoming part of the photo shoot, right alongside Sasha and an alpaca.
Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) was disappointed to hear that Lois (Rena Sofer) planned to leave town but was willing to stick around if BLQ asked her to. Brook Lynn admitted she wasn’t in crisis for a change but she still needed her mom to navigate through the Eddie Maine ordeal.
The subject soon turned to the music business. Lois told Brook Lynn it was not all it was cracked up to be. She thought it would be better to take Granny Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) gift of Deception. She even suggested taking the company and handing it back to Maxie and Lucy.
Little did they know what was going on outside. Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) was terrified when she couldn’t find Neddie (Wally Kurth) at the boat house and then realized he was in the water. Needing to do something, she jumped in after him but took the entire hour to find him. When she did, she had trouble bringing him to the surface.
