Today’s General Hospital recap for October 24, 2023, finds Cyrus making threats, Michael torn about Nina’s SEC secret, Curtis happy to have a friend, and Lucy livid at giving away part of her life’s work.
Cyrus Isn’t Playing Around
General Hospital – Cyrus and Austin
Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Scott (Kin Shriner) sat down for a Metro Court meal where they discussed their various business troubles. Lucy wondered if things could get worse before an angry Laura (Genie Francis) walked in and dragged Scott away from the table. She was furious with him for helping Cyrus (Jeff Kober) get out of jail.
Scott defended himself and explained that Cyrus had a right to legal representation, but that didn’t do anything to appease Laura.
Cyrus was just happily hanging around the hospital until Austin (Roger Howarth) came up from behind and pulled him into a supply closet. That’s where he held a scalpel to Cyrus’s neck. Austin was furious that with all the help he gave him, Cyrus still tried to kill Ava (Maura West).
Cyrus was impressed that Austin could be so tough but he still ordered him to let him go and sneak him in to see Mason. Austin did as he was told and when Cyrus got to Mason (Nathanyael Grey), he chastised him for trying to kill Ava when Cyrus had ordered Mason to take Ava home.
Showing that he is still the same Cyrus, he warned Mason he’d feel excruciating pain on a long and slow journey to death if he ever betrayed him again. Austin watched in horror as Cyrus smacked Austin across the face and then wished him “Godspeed.”
Michael Had A Big Decision To Make
General Hospital -Martin and Michael
Nina (Cynthia Watros) paid a visit to Sonny (Maurice Benard) at his office and showed him all the beautiful wedding pics. She even framed a photo of Donna to give to Carly. Nina couldn’t stop looking at a wedding pic of Wiley and vowed to make up for all the time she lost.
When Nina told Sonny that losing all that time was nobody’s fault, he rightly pointed out that some of the blame had to go to Carly (Laura Wright). Strangely enough, Nina tried to defend Carly, which impressed Sonny. However, when Nina learned that Drew was sent back to Pentonville, the guilt was written all over her face.
Michael (Chad Duell) enjoyed listening to his recording of Martin (Michael E. Knight) admitting he called the SEC at Nina’s behest. He just had to figure out what to do with the recording. Martin then appeared at the door with a warning. If he tried to take away everything that mattered to Nina, he’d be sorry.
Michael was sure Martin was only worried about what Nina would do to him and not Michael. Yes, Martin did fear Nina but he feared Michael needed to fear her more. He went on to list Nina’s litany of misdeeds since she emerged from her coma nearly a decade ago. Michael actually looked scared by the time Marty was done.
A confused Michael finally went to see Sonny and was affected when he overheard his dad on the phone talking being happier than he’d ever been in his life. Michael told Sonny he wanted to talk but Sonny couldn’t wait to show him the photos of the kids that Nina had framed. This caused Michael to leave without telling Sonny what Nina did.
Later, Martin visited with Nina and apologized for what he did, but Nina only thought he was late with some hotel contracts.
Curtis Puts On A Happy Face, Chase Serenades
General Hospital – Laura and Curtis
Portia (Brook Kerr) arrived home with a somber look on her face and Curtis (Donnell Turner) immediately knew something was wrong. Portia claimed she was fine before looking over some pics of Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) trip to NY and deciding that she needed to let Trina live her own life.
After Portia left for the hospital, Laura stopped by to have a reunion with her old friend — the man Cyrus shot before being hauled off to Pentonville in 2021. Curtis was thrilled to see his friend and have someone he could talk to honestly.
Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Lois (Rena Sofer) returned from lunch in time for Brook Lynn to learn her mom had invited Chase (Josh Swickard) over for some dessert. When Chase arrived, Lois got him to sing for them. BLQ balked at the idea but Chase seemed fine with it. Too bad the moment was interrupted by an outraged Lucy.
