Today’s General Hospital recap for October 17, 2023, details Dante coming to Ava and Dex’s rescue, as well as Lois reliving her life with Eddie Maine — and Ned Ashton.
Dante Fixes Ava’s Big Mess
From his dark and hidden computer lair, Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) led Dex (Evan Hofer) to a warehouse on the docks where he believed they’d find Ava (Maura West), but no such luck. However, Dex did find evidence that Ava had been there so he asked Spinelli to check the surrounding area as well as the highways.
Mason (Nathanyael Grey) had Ava in the back of his car ready to kill her. She did her best to talk him out of it, telling him he didn’t have to follow his boss’s orders. She even offered to protect him from Sonny (Maurice Benard), but nothing she said worked because Mason was determined. He resented Ava for not liking him and choosing to sleep with Austin (Roger Howarth) instead.
Carly (Laura Wright) paid Drew (Cameron Mathison) a visit at GH where she learned he would be sent back to Pentonville soon. This caused Carly to freak out and wonder what was wrong with the doctors. Drew explained that the doctors who were sending him back to prison were not responsible for him being there. It was whoever turned them in and surely not the fact that they committed a crime. Cyrus (Jeff Kober) soon arrived in Drew’s room to interrupt their conversation and announce his release and inform them that he was the one who rescued a bloodied Drew from the showers.
Austin was surprised to see Cyrus at the hospital. He was out of jail and wanted to thank Austin for testifying on his behalf with the parole board. Austin demanded to know where Ava was since he was promised her release if Austin did as he was told. All Cyrus could do was tell him that Ava was in the hands of the Lord.
When Austin went to check on a patient, Cyrus called Mason and told him to take Ava home. Too bad Mason had other ideas. Thankfully, Dex got there right as Mason was about to throw Ava over a cliff. As Dex and Mason struggled, shots rang out. It was Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) to the rescue after Josslyn (Eden McCoy) informed him what was going on.
Lois is Steaming Mad
Lois (Rena Sofer) was sure that since Neddie (Wally Kurth) found her to be familiar then he also must remember parts of their life together. She thought he was just faking things in front of the Quartermaines but he insisted he really did not remember her. Just then, Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) showed up in the Q kitchen and Lois met her daughter’s boyfriend for the first time.
While Chase was nervous to meet Brook Lynn’s mother, she took a liking to him right away. As Lois waxed nostalgic about love, Neddie wondered if he and Lois shared a love like Brook Lynn and Chase. Lois hedged those questions and just told him they had a complicated romantic history. When Chase had more questions, Lois told him and Neddie the whole sordid tale. After Neddie heard the story, he apologized for Ned’s behavior back in the 1990s. Lois thought she was owed more than an apology and took Neddie to task for not remembering her.
Tracy (Jane Elliot) was surprised when Gregory (Gregory Harrison) showed up for Backgammon night rather than Finn. Gregory was there to thank her for accidentally telling Chase about his ALS. It forced him to finally be open and honest with his son. Tracy was still apologetic for spilling the beans about something that was none of her business. After Gregory left, Tracy and Lois started sparring and things got heated.
