Today’s General Hospital recap for December 5, 2023, details everything we ever thought we wanted to know about what Pikeman has really been up to.
The WSB And Anna
Anna (Finola Hughes) stopped by Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) house to visit with Felicia (Kristina Wagner), who was babysitting. Anna needed a friend and Felicia was there to listen. Anna broke down still reeling over the fact that she shot a teenage girl. She still rightfully blamed Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) in part because he never told her the truth about Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez).
Felicia didn’t even know about Charlotte, so Anna told her the whole sordid tale. She also explained that she could never trust Valentin again so it was over between them. She then told Felicia all about Jameson Forsythe and the report she swiped.
The Australian gentleman named Brennan who just enjoyed a burger at Kelly’s with Carly (Laura Wright) met with his representative to make sure the money they offered Sonny (Maurice Benard) was still in the briefcase. Brennan planned to stick around for a while and clean up the Forsythe mess since he failed to take care of Anna like he was supposed to.
We also learned Brennan was also the current director of the WSB, which meshed with Valentin’s claims that Pikeman and the WSB were pretty much in lockstep with one another. He was going to run the Bureau his way from Port Charles. Anyone who could bring him down had been transferred.
When his associate asked who they should be targeting — Sonny or Anna — Brennan told him both. However, he especially wanted Anna out of the way because she had evidence of a 1980s mission gone wrong.
Sonny Gives Curtis Info
Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Sonny met up at Sonny’s money-laundering restaurant to discuss the Metro Court pool shooting. Curtis wanted to know if Sonny knew who would take a shot at him and why. Sonny was a mobster so many people wanted him dead. He advised Curtis to ask Anna the same thing.
Sonny went on to Curtis all about Cyrus (Jeff Kober) being behind his brief arrest over the summer. That made Curtis wonder if Cyrus arranged the hit. But Sonny wasn’t done. Curtis also got to hear all about Pikeman since it seemed to be a Pikeman sort of day.
A Busy Day For Cyrus
Laura (Genie Francis) did her best to help Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) pack for her big move, but told her she could leave some of her stuff there for when she visited. Laura also admitted she was going to miss the amnesiac who got a clean slate without paying for her crimes thanks to memory loss.
Esme feared moving into her own place with Ace, but Laura reassured her that she would be fine. If she fell flat on her face, she could always move back in with Laura and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom).
Cyrus was busy at work mopping the Port Charles Grille floor when Ava (Maura West) arrived to discuss the Austin (Roger Howarth) situation. Ava got straight to the point and asked Cyrus why he killed Austin. Cyrus claimed ignorance and seemed as if he didn’t even know Austin was dead.
She told him that she was well aware that he had Mason (Nathanyael Grey) kidnap her so that Austin would testify on his behalf. Cyrus insisted he didn’t kill Austin and pointed out that he even put the late doctor through medical school and supported him throughout his residency.
Cyrus then turned the tables on Ava and asked if she was the one who killed Austin. Ava was sure that Cyrus did it so he told her to check his alibi — his restaurant manager. Ava didn’t have such an alibi thanks to faulty security cameras.
After Ava left, Laura arrived to see her brother. She was just checking in but Cyrus was shocked that she seemed to even care. Cyrus soon went off into a rant that he does whatever he can for his family financially and it’s never good enough. Somehow this managed to soften Laura towards him.
Blaze Tells Her Story
After their kiss, Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) apologized to Kristina (Kate Mansi) if she came on too strong. She didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable but Kristina insisted she felt just the opposite. Kristina just had no idea that Blaze was gay so Blaze admitted she still hadn’t come out. She felt coming out wasn’t an option for her.
Blaze explained that she had never been in a long-term relationship and was solely focused on her career. Kristina just wanted to know if Blaze really believed her fans wouldn’t accept her sexuality. However, it wasn’t the fans that Blaze worried about. It was her very Catholic family.
Kristina encouraged Blaze to come out to her family and told her all about when she did so with Alexis and Sonny. She tied herself up in knots over it but everything worked out in the end.
