James Hyde (ex-Jordan Stark, The Young and the Restless; ex-Sam Bennett, Passions) took to Instagram Tuesday afternoon to announce that his beloved brother had died.

“My brother Tom passed away early this morning,” he wrote. “He was in hospice care and his son Dustyn said he passed peacefully. Tom was Father, Grandfather, Army Veteran, and a great brother to me. Love you Tom your [sic] now with Mom and Dad!! Rest in Peace ..God Bless You .”
Several of Hyde’s former costars and industry family, including Lindsay Hartley (ex-Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, Passions), Sean Dominic (Nate Hastings, Y&R), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers, Y&R), and Cameron Mathison, General Hospital) waded into the comments section of his post to express their condolences.
