The Young and the Restless recap for November 8, 2023, has Nate losing it, Phyllis cozying up to Danny, Nina getting a terrifying call, and Chloe moving on.
More Newman Squabbling
Nate (Sean Dominic) and the Newman kids were stunned when Victor (Eric Braeden) announced that Nate was fired. He explained his mindset, telling them that Nate had it all planned. He was going to send him to some “looney bin” so he and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) could take over his company.
Victor had already talked to the head of the clinic Nate was ready to ship him to and found that Nate arranged the whole thing ahead of time without consulting him. He then announced what we all knew — he had been faking his dementia the whole time. The look on Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) face said, “I told ya so.” Adam (Mark Grossman) looked perturbed.
Victor explained that he had to find out who would betray him and this was his only way of accomplishing that. He admitted he was leaning toward Adam being the disloyal one, but it turned out to be Nate. Victoria was just hurt that her father felt he couldn’t even trust her. She was furious that Victor thought her reaction to her demotion meant she would hurt him.
Nate Is Livid
The Great Victor Newman even pointed out that she didn’t even care what her boyfriend was up to. She only cared about her power and position. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) apologized for going along with Victor’s plan but at this point, a livid Victoria could not be soothed. Nikki told her that if she knew the truth, she would have told Nate immediately.
Nate continued to defend himself, insisting he did nothing wrong. He didn’t have any ulterior motives no matter what they thought. After declaring that Victor did him a favor by firing him, Nate stormed out. Victoria followed him out into the lobby to apologize, but Nate was too angry to listen.
Victoria immediately ran back to Daddy to tell him how wrong he was. She was especially furious when Victor claimed that Adam proved himself to be worthy of his trust this time around.
A Good Lunch Gives Nina Bad News
Danny (Michael Damian) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) met up in the GCAC jazz lounge. She tried to be fun and flirty, but Danny didn’t seem very interested in talking. Phyllis sat down anyway and asked whether she was the pariah in his mind again because “The Bug”, aka Cricket, aka Christine, was back.
Danny wasn’t even sure what she was talking about and told her to just trust that Chris (Lauralee Bell) had more important things on her mind than rekindling something with him. He also asked Phyllis to stop calling her “The Bug” so she decided to settle on Cricket. She also insisted to Danny that she was not the same person she was before. She even wanted to learn meditation.
Christine and Nina (Tricia Cast) met up for the second time in one day, this time to share a meal at Society when they were at Crimson Lights earlier. Nina lamented how she didn’t get to spend as much time with Chance (Conner Floyd) as expected now that he’s police commissioner, but at least she can hang out with her BFF more.
The subject turned to Chris and Danny’s friendship, something Nina thought could turn into more. Christine relayed she saw Danny at the jazz club with Phyllis, prompting her to stay away because she was afraid of what Phyllis might say about her. She did spend a few minutes with Danny and admitted how easy it was to be with him.
Sadly, their little lunch was interrupted when Nina got a call that Chance had been shot.
Chloe’s Big Move
Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) were a bundle of nerves as they waited to meet with Summer (Allison Lanier) at Crimson Lights. When Summer arrived, she tried to be as accommodating as possible and encouraged open communication about business. Chelsea did her best to be diplomatic, but Chloe was ready to throw in the towel.
Chelsea and Summer were stunned when she told them she knew she’d feel like the odd one out in the creative process now that Chelsea was back, so she planned to move on. Eventually, Chloe admitted that she wanted to work with Sally (Courtney Hope) and her new decorating business because that’s where she felt most creative.
