Arguments were a key theme in Wednesday’s edition of The Young and the Restless. Jack and Billy are at odds again, while Phyllis and Diane exchange words. Meanwhile, Summer and Kyle manage to call a truce as they finalize their divorce. Here’s a recap of the Sept. 20, 2023 episode.
Jack And Billy Disagree Over Their Plan
At the Jabot boardroom, Jack and Billy discuss Ashley and Tucker’s breakup. Billy says he’s more determined than ever to drive Tucker out of town. Billy believes they should stick to the idea of using Devon in their plan. Jack expresses concern and says he doesn’t want to destroy Devon’s relationship with his father. He says Devon’s already lost Neil and it’d hurt losing Tucker. The brothers continue to argue and Jack tells Billy to forget about Devon. But after Jack leaves, Billy sends Devon a text asking him to meet him.
Phyllis And Tucker Discuss Business
Phyllis is at the GCAC bar when Diane arrives. The redhead isn’t happy to see her enemy, but Diane thinks it’s time for them to start being civil. Diane says their feud and Phyllis’ destruction ruined Summer and Kyle’s marriage. Phyllis replies that Kyle ended the marriage when he slept with Audra. The ladies continue discussing Summer and Kyle’s relationship. Phyllis says she promised Summer she wouldn’t meddle. Diane says that’s not what she’s asking, all she wants is for them to be civil and set a good example for the couple. Phyllis and Diane exchange heated words when Tucker arrives. Diane remarks that Tucker and Phyllis deserve each other before leaving.
Tucker and Phyllis head to the table to discuss business. Phyllis admits she needs the money to pay back the insurance company or risk being sued. She then asks Tucker the name of the company, but he refuses to answer. Phyllis thinks it’s Jabot, and Tucker says it’s a good guess, but wrong. He tells her he wants to hack into Billy’s personal financial records. Phyllis expresses worry she’ll end up in prison, and Tucker remarks he’ll find someone else. Phyllis tells him she’ll do it, but she wants half the money upfront. She then tells him once the job is done she’s out, no more favors. Tucker agrees to her demands and tells her he’ll transfer the money later so she can get started.
Summer And Kyle Call A Truce
At Crimson Lights, Summer and Kyle talk about Harrison. They both agree Harrison’s happiness is their main priority and want to keep the divorce peaceful. The discussion then switches to their breakup, and they both admit their mistakes. Kyle says it was wrong to sleep with Audra, and Summer blames herself for pushing him into Audra’s arms. Kyle admits work has been awkward with the Audra situation, and Summer says he’s always welcome back at Jabot.
Diane returns to Jabot and tells Jack of her run-in with Phyllis. Jack agrees with Phyllis’ stance to let Kyle and Summer work things out themselves. Diane worries about Kyle spiraling out of control and she feels useless. Jack offers to take her out to dinner to relax.
Devon Faces Business And Family Drama
Lily arrives at Devon’s penthouse to inform him Victor sold his shares of Chancellor-Winters to a mystery investor. The two discuss how the decision will affect them when Devon receives Billy’s text. When Lily asks Devon about his thoughts about Tucker, he says he wants to believe Tucker, but doesn’t know if he can.
Later Lily visits Victor, who says Lily and Devon have done a wonderful job with Chancellor-Winters. But he had his reasons for selling his shares. When Lily asks about the investor’s identity, Victor says he can’t reveal it just yet.
Devon meets Billy at Society and assumes he wants to discuss Tucker. Billy recounts Ashley’s version of events of what happened with Tucker. Devon accuses Billy of trying to interfere in his and Tucker’s relationship. Billy claims that’s not true. At that moment Jack and Diane enter, and Jack fumes at seeing Billy go behind his back.
