This week’s The Young and the Restless recap for the week of April 29th, 2024, features Ashley turning her attention to an old friend, Victoria and Cole finding and rescuing their daughter, Nikki and Jack hitting rock bottom together, and so, so much more!
Monday, April 29
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Mark Grossman) finally got to talk to Connor and Adam finally realized how much his son is suffering. He even agreed to be a united front with Chelsea and do what was best for their son by listening to his care team.
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) went to see Jack (Peter Bergman) and broke down blaming herself for Claire’s (Hayley Erin) disappearance. Summer (Allison Lanier) was shocked to hear it, and even more shocked to hear Claire was the one who wanted Jordan (Colleen Zenk) to die weeks ago in the warehouse. Later, Nikki checked into a room at the club after grabbing a bottle of vodka to drown her sorrows and guilt.
Cole (J. Eddie Peck) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) ran off to Jordan’s hotel room to investigate and came across a creepy doll that was left behind. Inside were keys, which Victoria recognized!
Back at the Ranch, Michael (Christian LeBlanc) called out Victor (Eric Braeden) on the story of Jordan’s “death,” but the Newman powerhouse stuck to his tall tale. He didn’t particularly care who believed him and who didn’t.
Tuesday, April 30
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Diane (Susan Walters) shared quips at Crimson Lights before the call came in that Alan (Christopher Cousins) was in town. He got an update on Traci (Beth Maitland) before Ashley got home. He couldn’t treat Ashley but he was happy to help. Ash took him to Society for lunch where her sickeningly sweet persona put Abby (Melissa Ordway) on alert.
As for the Newmans, Victor (Eric Braeden) paid the dungeon dweller a visit and pushed a few of Jordan’s buttons. At the same time, Victoria and Cole ran off to the storage where they rescued their daughter. She wasn’t the only one inside, though, there was a dead woman, too! As it turned out, the woman was helping Jordan and collapsed, trapping Claire underneath her. Horrific. She shared her tale once they got back to the ranch and Victor assured Claire that Jordan was most certainly dead.
Later, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael met up and updated each other on all the Jordan and Los Angeles Sheila drama. Talk turned to Nikki and they quickly realized their friend was nowhere to be found by anyone!
Wednesday, May 1
Battle lines were drawn in the war between Billy (Jason Thompson) and Devon (Bryton James). Unfortunately, for Billy, Abby (Melissa Ordway) was not on his side and told him as much. Fortunately, for Devon, he recruited both Nate and Chance (Conner Floyd).
Southern Belle Ashley’s flirting with Alan was interrupted by Jack who took a seat at their table. Later, the trio dispersed and Ashley tried to follow Alan into his hotel room but he shut it down…and then voiced his concerns to Jack. Ashley retreated to the mansion to have another duel of the personas…and her evil alter took back control.
Down the hall from Alan, Nikki drank herself into an oblivion and had a terrible nightmare about her family rejecting her and booting her from the ranch. She woke up and decided to venture out to get more liquor but ran into Jack. He chased her back to her room and refused to allow her to shut him out.
Thursday, May 2
Jack jumped right into sponsor mode and tried his hardest to save Nikki from herself. He begged her to go to rehab, or even a meeting, or even just open up to him, but she was too far gone. She was deep into the bottle and her pity party was far from over.
When talking didn’t work, Jack took drastic actions and joined in the “fun.” He called up his old dealer and got himself some pills. After all his pleas to Nikki failed, he washed down a pill with vodka. And another…and another…and so many he collapsed. Nikki desperately tried to wake him, but it did no good.
Friday, May 3
Jack nearly died of an overdose but a paramedic was there to bring him around. Unfortunately, for Nikki, her husband and children were dining in the club and were told where she was and what was happening. Victor got to the room just as Jack was getting his bearings. He tore into the pair of them and demanded Nikki accompany him home. She grabbed Jack’s pills and they headed back to the ranch. Nikki promptly packed her bags for rehab. As for Jack, it took a while for him to be in his right mind.
Meanwhile, Claire went to the Abbott mansion to check on Harrison. The boy and his dad were happy to see her. Summer, not so much. But, what could Summer say? Claire wasn’t the enemy here. Later, after Claire went home, Summer made the decision to stay home with Harrison and talked to Kyle about getting their son someone to talk to.
