When Lily asks if the investor is someone she knows, Victor plays coy. Their conversation is interrupted when Victoria arrives. Lily thanks Victor for his time, then leaves. When Victoria asks about Lily’s visit, Victor tells her he sold his shares of Chancellor-Winters. Victoria says he’s just full of surprises. Looking around the office, Victoria becomes upset at seeing her portrait gone. This sparks another argument between father and daughter. Victor reveals the reason for Victoria’s demotion is her failure to create unity. He thought she and her brothers could be able to work together, but she proved that was impossible. Victoria rebuttals that Victor is to blame for the family’s dysfunction. As tension arises, Victor says Victoria can always leave the company. Nikki arrives as the two continue arguing, she tries to calm both of them, but to no avail. Victor tells Nikki to forget about the vacation, his reign as CEO starts now. After he leaves, Victoria expresses her concern about Victor to Nikki.
Audra Makes A Difficult Decision
Kyle and Audra meet for lunch at GCAC. They talk about keeping their relationship a secret from Nikki, then Kyle mentions Audra’s been distant lately. She squashes his concern by saying she’s busy with work. Nikki arrives and notices the two getting cozy. She approaches their table and asks what they’re discussing, and Audra lies that they’re working on a pitch. Nikki asks Kyle for a moment with Audra, and when he leaves Nikki gets down to business. She tells Audra she knows that she and Kyle are still together. Audra tries to deny it, but Nikki says she sees the attraction in Kyle’s eyes. Nikki reminds her of their agreement and expresses concern that the relationship will impact their work. She then orders Audra to fire Kyle.
Later Audra meets Kyle in Chancellor Park and tells him Nikki knows about their relationship. He tells her that can work it out. When he goes to hug Audra, she pulls away. She says there’s no way they can happen. Then tells Kyle that Nikki ordered him to fire him. She tells him it’s over before she walks off.
Kyle goes to the GCAC bar to drown his sorrows. Victor joins him and asks if he should be drinking on the job. Kyle says that he’s been fired from Newman Media, and Victor thinks it’s Kyle’s fault. When Kyle asks why, Victor says he is more suited for Jabot instead of Newman.
