It’s pill *ahem* mint-popping Poppy (Romy Park) that’s really got Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) dander up as of late, but the (overly)protective Mama Bear hasn’t forgotten the snake in her midst that is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). And, let’s be fair, Sheila owes Li one after last year’s spaghetti Bolognese incident.
Naomi Matsuda Talks One-Sided Food Fight
You remember the forced face plant, don’t you? Sheila offered her rival an olive branch in the form of perfectly prepared pasta in a meaty red sauce and Li responded by slamming Sheila into her plate. Not cool Li! Hilarious, but not cool!
In an exclusive chat with Soap Opera Digest, Matsuda recalled that she, “Just started smirking and laughing,” upon reading about the upcoming clash. She relayed to the publication that, “I’m so happy any time I get to work with Kimberlin. She’s such an incredible actor and she gives you so much. Although we did have one big fight scene already, this was something a little different for us and I was excited to do it.”
For anyone curious as to the mechanics of the incident, Matsuda explained, “I didn’t really shove her down. I just had my hand on top of her head and then Kimberlin lowered her face into the plate herself. I just followed her lead.”
Pros that they are, the actresses needed but one take. “Afterwards, we had a good laugh before [Kimberlin] cleaned off.”
